First world problem. I'm just getting around to cleaning my Bronco after my trip to Vernal UT. I think I killed all the bugs between here and Vernal on the way up and back. I had to wipe off the collision censor because it was getting a false reading at one point. As a Socal resident, I rarely have massive carpets of dead bugs covering my cars. Of course, there are some bugs but nothing like the apocalypse I have currently coating my rig. The amount of pressure washing I'd need to clean this off is probably not great for the paint and inner workings of the rig. Because I don't deal with this as often as others in various parts of the country what's the best bug remover? Meguiar’s? Is there another brand that people like and recommend? Thanks in advance.

Best “tool” I purchased and use is a chemical guys car wash kit, which includes a pressure wash “pistol” and a foam cannon…. With a white pressure nozzle (can’t remember the degree but they’re standardized) i can hit the bronco from a couple inches without fear, and remove cicadas and every other kind of badness pretty quickly…. After that, a little turtle wax bug and tar remover for the really tough spots, and I’m golden…

Try this trick. DRYER SHEETS!

I’ve used these for years. Make sure the sheets are damp. I’ve never encountered any issues with the paint or finish.

  1. Fill an empty spray bottle with water.
  2. Roll up a dryer sheet and place it inside the water bottle.
  3. Shake the bottle and let it sit for a few minutes.
  4. Spray the bumper and other areas.
  5. Use a damp dryer sheet to clean the surface.

Wash it normally, then put peanut butter on the hard to remove bugs, let it sit for a while, then wipe off. This sounds stupid but it works. Good luck.
