Hello Everyone,

I just posted a video giving a 40,000 mile update on the Toyo R/T Trail Tires. Find out how they're doing after a few overland seasons and if I'm going to buy them again (at this point.) Hopefully you find the information helpful!

Thanks for the update. I'm kinda surprised you're going a different route. You really seemed to like these tires. Also a little surprised you're going the 37 route. Looking forward to hearing how you like that change.

I'll have close to 40k on my tires by the end of the year so I have a little time before I have to make a decision. I've considered a MT but since I live in Northern Indiana, I have to take snow and ice into consideration. Not sure MT are the way to go for me.

Thanks for the video. I get the M/T dilemma but for me they are not worth the tradeoffs. M/T's are generally heavier, louder on road and offer less comfort. I use to be a M/T only guy with my previous Jeeps but for the Bronco, I've kind of drifted away from them.

I had Toyo Open Country A/T III and was happy with them but when I changed over to 35x11.5R17's I went with the new Falken Wildpeak A/T 4W and have been happy with them as well..

Both are great tires and IMO you can't go wrong with either. I never had or tried any of the R/T's but it's my understanding they are kind of in-between a M/T and a A/T.

Good luck with the future tires and I look forward to your updates on them..

Very informative video - Thank you!! Like others here, we're looking for our next tires. We're totally happy with the rock-solid handling our studded winter snow tires provide, So, we can focus on off-road & highway performance for these summer seasonal meats.

10 ply or at least 3 ply sidewall RT & Mts should work well for us, but I'm really not comfortable mounting Bronco with 80lb tires - 25lbs more than OEMs. Also, thinking 'bout me doing seasonal tire changes with 110lb tire/wheels makes my back hurt!

10 ply MTs are heavy, but these 2 options are some 10lbs lighter than the Nitto, Wildpeak, Goodyear and even Goodrich alternatives.

Here's Yokohama's MTs in 35/70/17 E weigh 71lbs at $403.

Vs Mickey Thompson's MT Boss in LT315/70/17 E weigh 70lbs at $401

At least, on Discount Tire's website, the Thompson's have slightly better ratings. Your suggests are very welcome!!

I happened to see a review of the new Goodyear Wrangler Boulder MT tire. Looks impressive with some unique features. A little leery of a Load E tire but should have good sidewall strength. I've never been much of a Goodyear fan but probably worth a look.

Yeah - Thanks!! Gotta agree Goodyears on our Jeeps were really bad - 30k mile and they were done.. Also, I can never find the RT or MT tires I'll looking for on Goodyear's website. It's like their new off-road tires are secret??!!##..

GY's Duratrac's are very popular here. They're on a pickup, 4 Runner & Jeep on our street. those guys love 'em and they do seem to do well on our snow/ice when relatively new. But after 35-40k miles those Duratraks got NO traction in snow, so look out below!!

Thank you for this Boulder MT reference. Stats look robust, looks good - May be another good option.

Discount Tire has a 35x12.5 R17 E that weighs 69lbs at $420/ea. Only a few reviews, but they're good.

I never thought about 37" tires. But after the skid plate fire, I feel it's a must to prevent sage brush from building up. 3" with 37" tires is about as good as I can get.

I never thought about M/T either. But those few times I wish I had them. Hmmm

I don't have experience with either. But I bet you would be ok with any good brand name (like those above)

Just got notification that Toyo has a new tire that is supposed to be in between the R/T Trail and their M/T tire - the Open Country R/T Pro - https://www.toyotires.com/product/open-country-rt-pro/

So the R/T Trail was supposed to be the tweener tire between an A/T and M/T so I guess they made a tweener between the tweener tire.😁

No sizes or specs listed yet but supposed to be out in April.
