Why residents in Arizona can not use Ford Accessories website to order parts?

I was excited to order some items from this great website accessories.ford.com. Not only are they offering 15% discount but I could use my points to help offset the cost on top of the discount. When I went to check out it informed me that I could not order in Arizona and directed me to parts.ford.com. The parts.ford website is very hard to use and navigate and does not give me the 15% discount or allow the use of my points.

Anyone know why Ford does this to residents of Arizona (and I it looks like Oklahoma and Vermont).

Its generally not Ford doing it. It some state law they have to follow, that doesn't allow the discount.

Arizona, Oklahoma, and Vermont all have state laws that prevent it. For Arizona it is state law § 28-4460.

The reason why you can order from Ford Parts is because the dollars from that sale flow through the dealership. So Ford is basically providing an online storefront for your dealership. On Ford Accessories it bypasses the dealership completely, which you cannot legally do in Arizona.

Ford can apply for an exception through the state, but obviously that would piss off all of the dealerships located in Arizona. So they rather not poke that hornets nest. The only automobile manufacture who has filed for an exception and gotten approved was Tesla.

Set your VPN to a different state and see if you can place the order.

Oklahoma is the same....its because corporate america owns your state legislators and they write up legislation to protect them...for what ever they deem to need protection from.

I ordered to Arkansas, which is about an hour from me. Saved me some money overall.

Arizona and the other states are starting to sound like Commiefornia. I should know 😂
BUT I have had excellent service and super fast shipping from FMS on the parts I have ordered. They ship Fex Ex the stuff is here in 2-4 days usually.
Found something useful to spend these points on finally.

Thank you for that explanation. I called my local Ford dealer (shout out to Jones Ford Wickenberg) and they were happy to meet the price of Ford Accessories with the 15% discount and apply my points to the purchase. I guess I got into the shop at home thinking where I click and something shows up in my mailbox a few days later. Gives me a reason to drive the Bronco when I swing by to pick up my new parts. Cheers.

Yup this is good advice regardless of where you live.

I used to live in Arizona, but I’m currently in the northeast—so I could order parts from Ford Accessories if I wanted. BUT, my dealer asked Ford to be removed from the Ford Accessories website, which means I can’t use the free “Ship to Dealer” option.

I still order through my dealer, because their price is usually better than Ford Accessories. (And on the rare occasion it isn’t, they’ll price match.) Ordering through my dealer means I can still get free shipping through them, and I can still pay with FordPass points. So it’s a win/win in my book.

The only items my dealer cannot order at a discount is Ford Performance parts. But that’s where the 10% Bronco Nation discount comes in. 👍
