245/70R17 rubs without a lift. Admittedly, for just around town everyday driving it probably will never be an issue, but if you ever flex out your Big Bend off-roading it will definitely rub. 235/70R17 is close—kinda depends on the small variations between tires. Again, wouldn't be an issue around town, but I'm thinking off-roading with lots of load on the suspension.
I have never tried 245/65R17, but given it is slightly smaller than 235/70R17 (approx half an inch), I could definitely see it working. Maybe if you really smack the suspension it'll kiss something, but I doubt it'll hit anything hard enough to be an issue.
In terms of the lift... there is a litmus test: "If the aftermarket modification could have caused the issue the customer is experiencing, the warranty may be denied." So.... as an example... if your Sync screen dies and needs to be replaced, that is obviously completely unrelated to a suspension lift, and they cannot deny you warranty. On the flip side, say the joint on your front half shaft blows out. That could have been caused by your lift so they may deny warranty coverage.
My personal opinion?? Get a 1.5-inch lift and go with 245/65R17 or 245/70R17 All-Terrains.
