It's a 2023 Bronco Sport, not 2013....Time to replace my tires after 35k miles, getting ready for cross country drive... Suggestions for all terrain tire - I drive mainly highway around town in Maryland, but drive out west once/year for off roading / ski mountains, so want that performance when I need it, but not the super knobby tires...

I am researching - 2 that look good are Yokohama Geolandar AT Go 15 and Goodyear Weather Ready ... Any tires to avoid?

Size - 225/165R17 102H

Thanks

I tried those Geolanders on my Subaru and did not like them at all.
If you don't want something as aggressive as the BFG KO2, KO3, or even the Falken Wildpeak AT3/W or newer AT4/W, look at the Falken Wildpeak A/T trail. They are less aggressive and more made for the person who spends almost all their time on pavement, with a few trips off. The Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail is similar but the reviews I've seen are a little better than the Falken.

But look up a few reviews of each to see what the strenghts and weaknesses of each are. There are some decent videos that show stopping on snow, ice, wet, and dry pavement, plus handling on each.

what was it that you didnt like the Yokohamas? They seem to be high rated. But I am looking at the Falken also...thanks!

They were not durable at all. I had a flat on an easy logging road. Maybe a few sharp rocks, but it wasn't even the sidewall that was pierced but through the tread.

I was thinking they'd also be a lot smoother than the KO2s I had before, but was surprised that the noise and "roughness," was about as bad. Of the more aggressive ones, the AT4/W that I had were probably the least noticeable, either about the same or slightly smoother and quieter than the GO15. They weren't quite as good on the trails as I was hoping, the Cooper (or their replacement since the name seems to have been dropped) or the A/T trail seems to have better ratings on dirt roads and mud.

I ended up getting the Geolandrs last week, so far so good, seems to drive about the same as the factory installed Pirelli touring tires, especially with the big snow storm in MD. I drive out west next week and then I'll get a much better read on a long drive for noise, economy and so on. I don't do a lot of off road and certainly your experience needs to be monitored... Worst case I may even get touring tires for summer driving... i appreciate you taikng the time to respond, thanks!

I have had 2 sets of BF Goodrich Trail Terrains and have been very happy with them, I went one size bigger, 235 65 17. They are relatively quiet on the highway and very good off-road.

Just installed the new BF Goodrich KO3's 235 65 17 on my 2021 Badlands and I highly recommend them. Just the right size and the updated tread pattern looks awesome in person and they are not really loud and handles well.
