Rear Differential

I have a 2021 Bronco Sport Outer Banks with 50K miles. The vehicle was making a rumbling noise when turning the wheel to pull out of the garage or backing out of parking space. I took it to the repair shop to have it looked at and diagnostics. Repair shop has told me the Rear Differential needs to be replaced; about $3K. Seems like a significant repair for car that is going on 4 years and only 50K miles. Has anyone else had this situation and how did it go?

More detail from them would be good. There isn't a ton of things that can go wrong in a diff -- and they can mostly be replaced without replacing the entire unit. There are 4 bearings and the gears assuming you don't have a locker.

At minimum I'd get a second opinion.

I’ve heard the same noise. Mine is 2025 with 850 miles. Took it into the shop. Waiting on the part to come in.
