Problem while turning into driveway/causing skidding noises

Occasionally when I turn right into my driveway with my Bronco Sport Badlands at a low speed, the front tires will lock up and start to skid on the pavement in short spurts before going away and allowing me to continue up my driveway
This seems to go away as I straighten out the steering wheel. I’m not in any special GOAT mode FYI
Anyone have this experience?
Any suggestions of what might be causing this?

By your tires skidding, do you mean you’re still moving and they loose traction? Are they still spinning and having trouble getting a grip, or are they literally stopping where your car stops and goes? I know you mentioned they stop, but if they are still moving these would be my thoughts:

Your driveway approach could have something to do with it, like if it’s at an above normal slope, and if you’re turning hard into it, your tires could loose traction if you’re accelerating (somewhat significantly) to get on your driveway. Not sure what your driveway situation is like though, is your driveway steep? Or mostly flat?

Another factor could be if your driveway is slippery, and/or if your tires are slick or worn down significantly. This would also add to your tires skidding from loosing traction. Same goes with if your driveway or tire is wet.

I also have a Badlands Sport, I haven’t experience this issue before. I usually back into my driveway though, because it’s short and I usually leave in a rush for work in the morning lol. The only time my tires have skidded (or really, peeled) is when they’ve gone I’ve r a slick surface (like roadway stripe markings) while I accelerate and turn, which is normal for most cars I would say.

If you could clarify what you mean by skid, and explain a little more of your driveway situation I’d be happy to do my best to help you discern whether this is normal, or if it’s a vehicle issue!

What GOAT mode are you in? Could this potentially be the 4WD binding?

Don’t have a sport, but sound like you’re in 4H, which will chirp on hard surface turns…

You could be in Normal GOAT mode AND 4H… thst could cause a chirp

How smooth is your driveway? In my truck I get the inside tire to brake loose pulling in a very sharp right hand turn. but my drive way is dirt/gravel pretty steep and very uneven. The rear passenger tire gets light do to the uneven terrain and the light tire spins until the LSD kicks in. I have had it do this same thing in my equinox back when I owned it but right front. The other thing, if it is skidding is it could be the diff locking up some how like others said it might be in 4-high. If you are in 2-wheel drive and none of the above conditions exist it could be an issue with the 4-wheel drive system. Of course these are all just guesses.

I had something of this nature here on my property/farm. As I turned and drove over one of two berms, one tire became airborne a couple inches. Only three tires were touching the ground and provided raction. A distinct 'knock' sound came as I was proceding forward, but I stopped backed up, and took another route without the berms. By 'berms' I mean shaped like 6-8" speed bumps and while driving slightly Diagonally. Hence the one tire off the ground.
Having looked at Youtube videos where this nonconformaty was created and driven over, I never gave it anymore thought ??? and that was that. Yours may be simmilar...... or entirely dissimilar, but it's worth watching from outside while friend tries to replicate this disturbance...

^^ 'At the time I suspeced a 'lock' arrangment in the axles as the source.'
