Ran across an article that should be of interest to BS owners. Ford is building a new small truck in the Hermosillo, Mexico, plant that builds Bronco Sports. Could mean that it will share the same chassis and some BS features. It appears they have only built a few prototypes at this point. A little truck with genuine 4WD capabilities would appeal to a lot of people. Read more Ford quietly begins production of new 'C' pickup in Mexico (msn.com)

Edit: Did some searching and found something from Motor Trend and others about this truck that will be a 2022 Maverick. Has some photos and more info. Looks a lot like a BS inside and out. Be sure to scroll through the 16 photos. This is the first I'd herd of this BS cousin. 2022 Ford Maverick: What We Know About the Compact Truck (motortrend.com)

Interesting. Reminds me of a Honda Ridgeline, because its a unibody, and the Rivian pickup because of its design.

I wonder if it will have an electric powertrain.

The Honda would seem to be a Maverick's main competitor. I think the Mav will have a price advantage.

Big agree. Plus, because of the Blue Ovals reputation for trucks, it will get better marketing and publicity.

I wonder what the drive is to make another truck model?

Electric package shuttle.
Hmmm is there a regular cab Ranger?
Regular cab small trucks used to be common for parts and delivery.
May not be for U.S. market???

Yes. They plan to market the Mav internationally. Pundits are saying an entry price below $20K.

Not sure how this chimes in, but always thot suzuki samarai could have continued in a price bracket like that. Next step up from razors and side by sides..

Maverick actually doesn't look as bad as I envisioned.

They do, the Suzuki Jimny. It's gotten much more expensive over the last decade though.

The Maverick price point makes sense due to the fact a midsize truck now costs what a full size truck used to.
Think the price point of Bronco Sport is excellent. Fits in nicely under ranger
(Actually kinda think Bronco Sport price point kicks ranger's pricing in the butt. Big exception for towing purposes tho!!!)

Used to be the Jimny was something like $8k, but now it's at least twice that and not yet available in the US. Hope is they'll start their dealer network up again, or maybe even sell them through an implement or motorcycle network.

The shape of the headlamps reminds me of the new Dodge Rams
