My Sport, like my Ranger before it, had this wasn't a fan then, not a fan now. Anyone else? Is there kit to convert it to a normal filler?

What annoys me is that the fuel intake cover is not locked. Took me a couple of moments to figure out that all I (or some gas thief) has to do is push the cover in, and it releases. Anybody can access my fuel, either for mischief or larceny. Not one of Ford's "Better Ideas!"

Actually it's not that easy there's an anti siphon device inside the filler neck. If someone really wants your gas it's far easier to put a hole in the plastic gas tank from underneath. This is not just a Ford thing either.

Nothing available. Not sure what the problem is other than it's not what you're used to. There are tens of thousands of vehicles with this on the road of all brands with no problems. The design has to do with fuel containment during crashes.

the main reason for this is to eliminate check engine lights for loose gas caps
I believe ther is a locking accessory cap that goes over the ez fuel cap. And for the record LOVE ez fuel

So I googled why there's easy fill capless fillers and the only reason is because it's to eliminate people leaving their caps at the pump and for people suffering from arthritis to not endure the pain of twisting the cap off. I found nothing about it being a safety reason. It makes it clear that you can't stuff a garden hose down it, but it makes no mention about fuel line. Which I happen to have and was able to get it in to the bottom of the tank.
