I realize there are already several discussions about this problem in this forum, but damn it's been 3 years now and this issue is till unresolved for many incuding myself. It's just not right to have a fairly new vehicle that makes this moaning noise when backing up. I have a 2021 Base. It seems that Ford would've/could've done something by now to fix it by now!
First there was TSB 23-2041, then in October 2023, TSB 23-2308 superseded it. However, one required part, the brake caliper springs (DG9Z-2B486-B), have been on freakin' backorder ever since (due to a stop-sale!). But I got lucky a few weeks ago and found a Ford parts distributor in Illinois that had 2 so I bought them (at a marked up price of course).
So I made an appointment w/ my local Ford dealership to get TSB 23-2308 taken care of. Bottom line: either the updated TSB still does not correct this issue, or the Ford dealership I went to didn't follow the steps correctly and basically hosed the entire process. The latter is what I'm leaning towards, because I've seen some people state that it fixed it for them. Afterwards this Ford dealer tried to tell me that the updated TSB doesn't actually fix the issue and that Ford is aware of it and will be introducing another TSB to supercede this one! Does anyone know of this statement to be true? I cannot find reference to it anywhere.
But I've also seen reference to some people "updating" their brakes fixed the problem. Has anyone actually had this problem corrected by either method?
The TSB in question is attached.
