While the Auto Stop/Start function on new vehicles are almost a love/hate feature, most if not all vehicles have a way to turn it off. The only thing is most will reset itself to the ON position until you turn it off each time to start the vehicle. There ways to bypass this feature with tricks that are always safe or inexpensive.
Some of the ways I have seen:
Reprogramming the computer – costly and time consuming if you have to send the ECU out. also not reversible unless you have it reprogrammed back to stock.
Unplugging the trail tow connection under the dash – this may be unsafe because if you tow anything when it is unplugged the trailer lights will not work.
Connection under hood – leaving a connection under the hood open to the weather may cause issues if this creates a short in the electrical system.
Trailer Connection at the rear – Using a jumper plug will deactivate the auto stop/start but nowadays this item sitting out for people to steal… might have to replace it more often then you would like.
AutoStop Eliminator – Plug and Play style devise that can be easily installed under the dash without any tools or removing panels. Keeps the setting you chose the last time you turned off the car whether you chose On or OFF. This is also easily reversible by simply removing the devise. This is the rout we chose.
Did you inquire with your Ford dealership’s service department to see if they could simply “code it out”? I have a Range Rover Sport and Land Rover simply turned off the Auto Start “feature” permanently via their software.

Didn't even ask. With this you get to choose whether it is on or off and it stays that way until we push the button to change it. .
