Adding a Ford Factory Tow Hitch Post purchase

Have any of the members here done that ? Add a factory Tow hitch to the Bronco sport post purchase. Mine is a 2023 Big bend and I have had Ford order the proper hitch from factory parts. I did this on my 2018 Ford edge and in the process the Technician gently cut a small bit from the rear fascia to facilitate the fittment. I am of course wondering if this cutting to fit might involve my Sport. I am hoping not, but I suspect it will indeed need trimming. So I'm asking friends/members.....? Sad to say, I think these pictures answer the question satisfactorily, I was hoping though. Looking at the pictures a great deal of fascia will need removal..

I haven't seen anyone add tow to the Sport yet after purchase, so you may get to be the trailblazer, and a good one since you have experience with your Edge. Could be a silly question, but if you want a true factory look, could you pick up a rear bumper for a Sport with tow as well?

I'v looked into that just hours ago. I have to check with the service manager to see availability of it. What I was looking at were 5-6-$700 ish in price. I would be willing to go that route for a factory uncut look and just put my current one for sale through the usual places we all go. only 500 miloes new...

That's not an AWFUL price, but if your guy can do a nice clean cut, I would understand going that route or trying it first. Keep us posted, and here's a couple threads you may have seen but if not, might be helpful:

Diving deeper into the installations for the different brands, most are very similar in method as would be expeced and I think there will be no way around cutting/trimming the bumper fascia. My saving grace.... technically I work for Ford so I get a good price on all the work and maintenance I do there and..... my Daughter is the Service Manager at the dealership where I got my Sport. Everything is done at the Dealership. On some years we even have Thanksgiving together...lol. At 72 this Big Bend will certainly outlast me, so I want it nice when it comes time to sell it or give it to one of my Kids.

I had my Ford dealer‘s shop order a factory hitch as well. Back ordered until the end of the month. Hoping to have it installed on my Bronco Sport in early December.

I was going add a tow hitch to my 2021 Bronco Sport Big Bend. The installer said it could be done BUT the modifications to the vehicle are extensive. So I traded it in on a 2022 Big Bend that I ordered with the tow package. I a glad I did as there is an oil cooler included with the factory package along with the software needed.

Dang man, how cool is that...! Excelent.
I never knew how much I'd like the Bronco Sports, after my install I'll pretty much have all the obligatory accessories installed. Had mine since Oct 13, last month..

Today's the DAY .....I hope to have the service manager take some pics along the dissasembly and re-assembly. It's going to be nice to have it able to tow my utility trailer. I will be using a Curt ball and adapter for a sleeker look and since my towing will all be well under rated capacity.

Finally got my hitch installed last week on my '23 Big Bend. It took the Ford dealership two days to install hitch and wiring. Looking forward to getting the Yakima Exo system and maybe eventually pull a light trailer.
