Adding 7-pin trailer connector

I've got a small camper with electric brakes and a 7-pin round trailer plug. My Bronco Sport only has the 4-pin flat connector. I bought a kit from etrailer that does the upgrade, but it needs a + wire from the Bronco to operate the electric brakes.

I thought I'd just run a wire from the fuse panel in the engine compartment. Have you looked at the fuse panel though? They have made it almost impossible to add additional circuits using the factory fuse panel! I don't want to cut into those wiring harnesses!

I suppose I can run a separate fused wire straight from the battery, but is that the easiest solution? I also thought about tapping into the 12v socket wiring back in the rear compartment, but getting that plastic panel off looks like a bear.

Has anybody else done this? If so, how did you do it?

Just connect the wire to a lug on the battery, through an in-line fuse.

Thanks. That seems to be the best solution. I found a YouTube video by etrailer that shows the process, and that's what they did.
