2021 Bronco Sport Waiting on RDU Clutch Assembly — Anyone Else?
I'm looking to connect with other Bronco Sport owners who have experienced the rear drive unit (RDU) clutch issue, particularly under Ford TSB 26-2328.
I have a 2021 Bronco Sport Big Bend with the 1.5L engine. My vehicle has been at the Ford dealership since August 4, 2026, after experiencing shuddering/rubbing during low-speed turns. The repair involves the RDU clutch assembly, part K2GZ-7C108-A, and I'm being told it's on national backorder. The associated seal has arrived, but the clutch assembly still hasn't.
I'm trying to find out:
  • Has anyone recently had this exact repair? How long did you wait for the clutch kit to arrive?
  • Did Ford give you an estimated arrival date, and was it accurate?
  • Has anyone had Ford replace the complete rear drive unit instead of servicing the internal clutch pack? If so, was that covered under warranty, and did it shorten the wait?
  • Has anyone been successful getting Ford to provide a loaner or rental assistance during a prolonged parts delay?
My Bronco has been out of service for nearly three months, and I've already spent close to $3,000 on rental cars. I'm willing to wait for the repair; I just need reliable transportation in the meantime.
I'm not looking to bash Ford or the dealership. I'm hoping to compare notes with owners who have firsthand experience with this particular issue and learn what actually worked.
Feel free to comment or message me privately. I'd really appreciate any information you can share!
