Won't shift while in GOAT mode

I have a 2023 Wildtrak. In any off road GOAT mode, the auto transmission won't shift. The rpms ramp up to 4k then I back off. I've even tried in Baja. I can leave in Normal and select 4H with no issues. 4L doesn't seem to shift either. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to head to the dealer?

I’ll ask the obvious first. Do you have the transmission in “D”rive and not “M”anual? Also curious about this, when it didn’t shift automatically did you try shifting with the manual key on the side of the shifter? If so, did it shift manually?

I’m actually out cruising on the beach today. Beautiful day on the east coast. So, hard packed sand (it’s low tide) I shifted to Baja mode for the first time. Auto transmission didn’t shift until I hit 4500 rpm’s. However all other GOAT modes first shift was around 3200-3500 rpms.

It was in D, and no, clicking the shifter didn't work while in D. I did actually try. However, I can shift manually if I put in in M using GOAT mode.

That seems awfully high to go to get a shift. If that's the case, I didn't let it rev enough. Is that what everyone experiences? I drove a Badlands for the Bronco OffRodeo, and it definitely didn't rev up that much.

Yeah the shift points feel really high. Even in 4 low it doesn’t shift until about 7-10 mph and when it does shift you feel it.
Hope all is fine with your ride. @thebigelph have you attended an off-roadeo event yet?

I have not had this problem. Are you switching GOAT modes in motion or from a stop. Outside of Normal to Eco, I always come to a complete stop and let it fully change modes before moving again. Regarding BAJA mode I've only used on sand dunes.

Mine will shift manually using the shifter key in both D and M. Sounds like you might need to visit the dealer. 🙁

I guess I'll give it another try and let it rev up more. I'm not far from the beach. Thanks for help!

Baja shifts ata much higher RPM. Just how it is set up. You really gotta rip on it to feel it working at peak potential. Sand mode will shift at a lower RPM.

Just came back from KOH. Unless I am rock crawling or over a more technical terrain, I utilized 4H and goat modes. I did find that when going out of 4H or 4L it would get wonky if I didn’t put it in normal mode before changing the transfer case.
