Wireless phone charging - learn me, and recommend a good pad/stand/whatever for Bronco

Company upgraded our iPhones to 15's, which support wireless charging - with Pelican cases. Good, now I can get rid of the dang usb cable that keeps getting caught on the shifter and my Yeti in the cup holders. Those of you who have the chargers - what fits the center console, works well, and doesn't cost a fortune? I'm not real familiar with the different types, but I'm assuming there's flat pads, stands that support the phone upright, etc.

Don’t expect too much from the built-in Bronco wireless charger. It’s NOT all that. There are some other forums that discuss the wireless charger, and like mine, most really don’t work very well. Good luck though, and if you discover the secret to getting it to work, please share.

I have a 4 dr Badlands, LUX. I have an iphone 12. Tried using the wireless pad, a number of time. It shows charging for about 5 minutes or less and then you get a message on the phone that it is over heating. I mentioned this on this forum in July 2023. Ford told me to send them my VIN, etc. Still no response or solution.

🍎13pro and the built in one will charge up to 50% before I assume it gets hot. I never have a warning pop up

Depending on whether you have the auto or manual trans, the placement is a little different. I have the manual transmission and installed this pad. It has a usb-a connection, so powering it can be as simple, or complex, as you like, depending on how clean you want the install to be.

IAG makes one (link here) that appears to fit both the auto and manual transmission vehicles and seems relatively easy to install.

*Edit: it does appear some modification is required to make it fit with the manual transmission*

Does yours not have the slanted slot between the shifter and cup holder?
I wonder if that’s why I don’t have as much of an issue than the auto’s.

Mine is slanted, but the auto transmission charging pads are flat in front of the shifter. I never have problems with mine disconnecting, but I was not sure which transmission the OP has. I believe the OP does not have a charger at all and is looking to install one aftermarket.

This is my aftermarket pad installed:

I bought a round one that is ~glass, so it doesnt really get hot.
So far zero issues with Iphone SE 2 nor the new Iphone 15.
It turns blue when charging and never any alignment issues.
I'll send pictures later, but great option for $12, looks nice too

don't get rid of your old stuff too quick, the bronco magsafe charger plain sucks, mine would barely keep up with the load on the phone and wouldn't gain any charge. The dealer did a software update per TSB and that didn't help. I replaced mine with an aftermarket unit.

Charger $12: https://a.co/d/6671KK6
USB-C Cable (2-pack): $7: https://a.co/d/e4ks7Sw

One piece of double sided tape on the back and you're done.

It just works, plain works and cheap.
It doesnt get hot, it's been flawless for 2+ years
Worked great on my IPhone SE2 and now perfect on my IPhone15

I plug my Samsung S21 in with a basic USC cord, keep a little folded cloth on my Badlands charging platform so it doesn't get hot, problem solved. Do we always have to spend $$$ to take care of very simple needs?

I installed the Klutchtech wireless charging pad (www.amazon.com/Klutchtech-Accessories-Wireless-Charger-Charging/dp/B0BLCCPJ91?th=1). It does work (somewhat slow) and my Android S21FE gets a little warm.

I haven't pursued any other options yet, but the wireless charger overheats the phone very quickly. It also doesn't really charger very well either as it keeps connecting and disconnecting. This has been the same case for two different Samsung phones (Note 9 and now Fold 5). I need to contact Ford support before my bumper to bumper warranty expires. I am hoping for a solution from them.
