Anyone finding more than usual rock and pepple jumping up on windshield while driving? I have my Bronco 3 months and I already have a visible chip. Can this be preventable?

Flat windshields are more prone to dings, chips, cracks. Deflectors “might” help for some but won’t prevent all. I’ve researched film applications in anticipation of receiving my Badlands - unfortunately not many great reviews to outweigh the high expense.
Here in the Phoenix area we have a lot of windshield damage so I gladly pay State Farm the little extra for 0 deductible comprehensive and full glass coverage. FWIW.

I got a rock chip in my windshield within the first hundred miles. I don't know how much they are to replace but I can't imagine its very cheap. I immediately went to Safelite and have them put their resin to stop it from spreading. When I got home I put on an https://www.getexoshield.com/windshield-protection-comparison cover.

First trip, first chip, under 500 miles, 10 days old. Just a chip. Last 10 years in our family,no chips, buy some new vehicles, 3 drivers, 7 vehicles, 2022 edge, chip in 800 miles, 2022 ranger, chip in1200 miles, ohhh I Win?,, yep, got my Bronco. My 1996 gen5 Bronco still has a chipless windshield after 232000 miles. I guess that's why they make replacement parts. 🤷

You can only reduce the chance of rock strikes; the threat cannot be entirely eliminated. Stay AWARE at all times. Aware of your following distance. Aware of cars riding the shoulder and kicking up stones. Aware of cars switching lanes in front of you and tossing up rocks that may lie between lanes. ExoShield windshield film may also help mitigate damage. However, taking simple precautions is still the cheapest way to avoid damage to your windshield.
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.
