Will the 12" Touchscreen be water-resistant?

I know this is probably a stupid and rudimentary question for a lot of you Bronco folks with salt on your backs, but I figured I could ask  So Ford designed the interior with the marine grade vinyl to easily wash out after a long day of riding. My concern (and because I'm a Navy cyber geek) is the onboard electronics. If one who has next to no common sense (this guy) goes to spray his interior, water splashes all up on the LCD screen, am I looking at a major electrical problem?

All answers are greatly appreciated! Be easy on me off-road vets!

I don’t believe it is IP rated for water and dust intrusion but I suspect that it’s as tolerant to liquid as the other electrical components that make up the dashboard.

I ordered a Badlands with the Marine Grade Vinyl interior but rest assured I won’t be all willy nilly hosing down the dash to clean it!

[as a point of reference my Jeep JKU touchscreen has gotten some water on it (not submerged) and continues to function fine]

- 2023 Heritage Limited Edition / Robin’s Egg Blue / 4dr / (stolen from my dealer 11/15/23)

Hey, thank you very much! That is my same thought process... I'll be ordering a Badlands with the same interior, but I won't be dousing mine either.

I have wondered this as well and would agree, probably not a great idea to hose down your dash. All the switches and controls are silicone sealed and listed as dust/water resistant per Ford. Probably useful to protect those areas if water indirectly splashes on them but not sure about direct contact from high pressure stream of water. Still pretty cool though. :)

Black Diamond purchase here...
I intend to keep a small vinyl rain fly to drop over the screen while running topless & door less.
probably use my BN flag with scotch guard and just clip it to the accessory rail. When I’m gonna be away from the truck for whatever.

Great idea! I also plan on purchasing the Bimini Top for beach cruising and in case of those pop up storms.

A good rule of thumb would be to try and keep water off the entire dash.

Thats the problem with that tv screen on the dash, you get caught in a rain storm with the top off, is it going to ruin anything?

So it really doesn't have a wash down interior.

If you feel like you have to hose off your entire dash I think at that point you either tried too hard to get muddy or you have bigger problems.

I've had some mud splatter on the dash before but not enough to warrant a hose. Now as for the doors, floors and seats. Those always get mud if your windows are down.

The worst I've had on the inside of my truck was the insides of a Gopher. A pressure washer would have been nice to have, but had to make do with a hand full of paper towels and some windshield washer fluid.

I used to work at the Morton’s Salt Factory but got fired.....was told I was too salty and to please not return or purchase anymore of their products. Bad for the brand!

Whether hosing dust and dirt or caught in a rain storm the basic idea is the same, you can't get it wet

I guess you never had to wash vomit off your dash.

When reading this question...all I can picture in my head is someone hosing down their dash.....and then posting why it’s not working right after the fact!

Never a dumb question though in my opinion! Lots of knowledge in this forum!

Yes it does . The owners manual specifically states to never wash up though .
