Has anyone started researching pod lights to mount on their front bumper? Flood or Spot? LED? What's the measure for brightness, Lumens? What's the highest Lumens number out there?

I saw the KC Flex Era 3 LED lights. Pricey for sure, but the specs look good.

I like a combination of flood and spot (fog and driving really), two of each.

In most cases, you can't drive fast enough to over run a good spot beam, so for all intents and purposes they serve no practical purpose for most people. Typically a speed of 20 mph will over run a fog light; however, off road speeds are typically lower than that, so a spot beam will project farther than you will ever need. To really get a benefit from a spot beam, you need to pre-run the course, be very familiar with terrain and probably have an in-vehicle navigator. If you do know the terrain well and you expect to drive more than 30mph, any good spot will work. Otherwise, you're just bouncing light out into the distance.

I like the Hella 500/700 series lights. They are inexpensive, made well, mount easily and provide more light than most people will ever need. You should be able to get all four lights (500/700ff) with wiring kit for less than $150.00. No one will consider you cool running those lights, but they'll give you years of reasonable service.

I plan to utilize Baja Designs lights to be installed after I take delivery. Although Rigid could have similar lights, the B&P did not provide us with the details I needed.
I began by understanding the Lighting Zones so I would select the correct options.

I will probably select Squadron SAE Pair LED Wide Cornering, Amber for street legal snow/fog/dust. These will give me coverage in Zones 1 & 2. These will be placed within my Badlands steel bumper.

Next, I will select Squadron Sport, Pair Amber LED Driving/Combo for Off-Road Only where snow/fog/dust is an issue. These will give me additional coverage for Zone 3. These will be placed in or on the steel bumper.

For my ditch lights, I will select S2 Pro, LED Spot for Off-Road Only ditch illumination. These will give me coverage for Zone 4. These will be placed on the ditch light located next to the rear-view mirrors.

In addition, I will be installing lighting for Zone 7 in the rear and maybe a lower grill level light bar which will not compromise my front trail camera for additional off-road driving/combo lighting at a later date. Rock lights attached to the underbody may be considered. I will be certain to allocate my aux switches accordingly.

For me, it is a more comprehensive plan than utilizing the B&P options.

Last but not least, I will probably be using a dedicated fuse box (space permitting) rather than inline fuses to aid in ongoing maintenance.

Hope this is helpful.

I highly recommend blackoak. I have their light bar on my Hummer and it is amazingly well built and throws an insane amount of light down the road.

I was debating something that might work for high-speed highway and yet be able to also work in high-speed off-reading. I’m not sure what. I tend to find that when I travel I’m running 65-80mph and I like zones 2 and 3/4 well lit. I was thinking a lower bar might produce that light without causing a blinding effect to opposing drivers. My neighbor has this on his RAM. I am also thinking of the pod an wheel lights. I’d like to have a good coverage for zone 7 too when I’m parked or trail.
