In case there's something better available, should I be looking any wheel locking kits other than what Ford offers?

Thanks in advance!

I'm sure there are aftermarket options, but they'll probably cost more. You can also find black locking lug nuts if you're aversed to chrome. Great for that black-on-black look for the factory rims.
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

I never recommend wheel locks. They don't really defeat theft, and then always end up creating more issues for the owner than anyone else.

I agree with you to a point. Wheel locks deter novice criminals from stealing wheels. However, some crooks are not easily deterred. The ones that try to steal the wheels but fail, often damage the wheels in the process and give up. So you're left with mutilated wheels. Clearly it's a gamble either way.

My concern is that nice, big fat spare tire hanging on the tailgate. Without a lock of any kind, it's an open invitation for someone to remove it, which can be a costly loss.

I get your fear. But have you seen what the tire is bolted to on the rear? If someone wants it they will get it. Let alone that most 4 doors are soft tops, which might as well be an open call.
In that video, in the end, they did say they would use the mcguard wheel lock. Not because it will prevent someone who actually wants that wheel., but because it will keep the opportunity thief away.
