Well my Big Bend Bronco order arrived today but still not sure what to do with it. The dealer converted my reservation to an order and due to some mis-communication, ordered it without any options meaning it came in with the manual transmission. Even though I tried to get it changed for weeks before it was built, once the VIN was assigned I was out of luck apparently. So now take the manual or let it go and probably my dreams of having a Bronco sometime before 2023......

It’s parked in your driveway, so did you close on the deal? Like, sign the paperwork and complete delivery? If so, you’re stuck with it. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. You could drive it around and see if it grows on you. If not, you can trade it or sell it back before it hits a couple thousand miles and practically get what you paid out of it, if not more.
If you haven’t closed the deal yet and you just drove it home to test it out, gather your documentation stating that you confirmed your order and your dealer messed up. Call Ford customer service, explain the situation, ask for your new (corrected) order to be confirmed and prioritized.
But that might bite you in the rear, because if you didn’t have your order invoice in writing well before it was scheduled for production you might be SOL as well.
It’s a nice rig. Nothing wrong with it, it’ll hold resale value as long as you take care of it, even if you drive it until MY23.

I do not understand . When you special order a vehicle you should have gotten a priced D.O.R.A. to sign off on . It would have shown which trim level , options and prices of the vehicle you were buying . Did you buy a vehicle without knowing or signing a agreement with the dealer ? That would be odd IMO .

I’m confused by this as well. I ordered my Black Diamond in January. I went and made a change in May. With that change I got paper work stating all options and the changes were highlighted. I signed two copies, one stayed at the dealer and the other came home with me. If it’s in your driveway I assume that means you paid or ran financing and took it home. I totally get you’re upset about not getting what you wanted but you also have a Bronco sitting in your driveway. It’s likely worth more right now than it ever will be. I also imagine it’ll hold a high resale for at least another 2 years while we all wait forever to get ours. You could flip it right now or enjoy it for awhile (but take good care of it) and sell it for the Bronco you want. That’s personally what I would do. Order the one you want and drive it while you wait. Either way not a bad problem to have.

I have yet to sign any paperwork for the ordering of my bronco. I have made several changes since I placed the original order. Each time I have made a change, I received an email from Ford with the change to my order.

Yes! Every step as listed above, plus more. Double check the customer name on the "Preview Sheet" as described above. During one of my changes, the dealer accidently pulled the wrong customer and made my changes on his order. Yikes! Also double check that the dealer did not accidently change your priority code to "99". This system is new for the dealers and they make mistakes! Buyer beware!
An additional step to consider is confirming the sales price and fee structure as a follow-up to each time the Preview Sheet is generated.

Yep, got an order summary with every change I made and matched exactly what I wanted. Hell even changed to Cactus Grey yesterday while at the dealer looking at the show one.

Made changes yesterday and got the changes via email (DORA / summary sheet). If I remember this you had sent all the info to the dealer and they fumbled it and you found out when you got your build email? And was too late to change? It's still beautiful, and it's delivered so you're ahead of most of us. You have every right to be upset, but you have options

^ This! If you sell it in the next few weeks, you should have enough profit to rent whatever vehicle you want, payoff your house, and go on vacation until your MY 2023 comes in :)

I think you should sell it for a profit and use the proceeds for a gently used one of these...

Order the Bronco you want and then in a couple years have a killer Bronco and a Transit.

I think they are cool but if you think the Transit is would make you look creepy, then keep the Bronco.

Hard to feel sorry for someone who has one of any kind. Also with a screen name of @carfiguy, I immediately think of Car Finance Guy! Maybe he was presented with the changes to ”get it first at all cost” by his dealership? Maybe didn’t understand what they were asking?

If this was a month ago he would have owed you cash and the Bronco for that plywood!

A lot of people would love to have that manual (Though maybe we're the minority lol)

My advice though... a car is just too much money to not get exactly what you want. (That's why I will custom order my Bronco). Then the depreciation hits, and your stuck with these huge payments on a major purchase that has lingering disappointment.

I would be patient and demand to get what I ordered, and I wouldn't accept anything less personally. But you got it now... go for a few drives and see if you can live with it? (And ideally love it)

I will simply say that judging form your title: " Well its here, now what to do with it? " That you don't sound like a particularly stoked new Bronco owner :/ And that sucks if you're not happy with the new rig. I don't know, it sounds like tough and confusing situation!

Good luck whatever you decide.

The dealer converted my reservation without ever talking to me at all assuming I had went in and configured it online, which I did not. so really they converted it to an order with only my $100.... then I got the ford email and tried to update it to an automatic ever since.

Nope, they let me drive it a couple days to see if I could live with a stripped Manual Transmission. All in all I should have been all over this and not trusted the dealer to call me back and get it right, so yes it might be partially my fault for not going in back in March and demanding the paperwork and signing it etc, but I did not know what a cluster this would all turn into. Honestly I thought I had plenty of time that it would just keep getting delayed and delayed. I have bought several new cars in my life, but never ordered anything, either bought off the lot or they dealer traded for exactly what I wanted.
