I have a new Badlands Bronco and want to know if it’s worth it to undercoat the new truck. I leave in Michigan. Thanks for the info.

I always have Ziebart installed. Been using it for the past 35 years. Never had any issues. I also live in MI. Just had my Badlands done 2 weeks ago. Also did the paint.

I got mine undercoated with Ziebart the first week I bought it. If you are going to keep it, do it. Fords (and basically all trucks) these days rust like crazy anywhere they salt the roads.

Isn’t the bronco covered by a warranty against rust?

I've heard and read mixed reviews on Ziebart. ZB is a undercoating as Fluid Film, Krown, and ww,ect are rust proofing.
ZB hardens and will chip and crack leaving water get underneath the coating and trapping it there, as rust proofing you need to do every fall

My 2012 JKU I had a professional coat of FF applied at a dealer, and after that I did the 2-3 spray can thing every Fall. When I sold my JK last year she had 0 rust. I also had the Bronco done last Fall, the shop I used said I could come up this year and for $50 bucks they would respray. Even though we had minimal snow last year, the state of PA made sure they put plenty of Brine down anytime there was even a 2% chance of snow. So it is good to do something!!! under1.jpgunder3.jpg

It is black. gives your frame and wheel wells a nice freshly painted look. The store I used coverd the shocks and any other item you did not want sprayed. I traded in 2009 JK Unlimited, no rust and we drove this in salt all winter every year in MI. There are other products out there. A lot of them are no longer in business, Ziebart is still kickin. Each there own.

Fluid Film, Woolwax or Blaster Surface Shield.

I did my F150 in WW. You gotta reapply and maintain.

I've had other vehicles undercoated with Line X in the past. Works great, deadens noise too. The Fluid Film works well too, but my wife hates the smell.

Like a few on here, I went with the Lanolin underbody spray. It is proven effective and does not chip or allow moisture to get under it. Yes you do need to re-apply every two years, but I believe, living in Whistler, that it is worth it.

I don't understand the chipping/pealing off of Ziebart that folks mention. I've used it for decades. My biggest issue was how it smears on your tools, etc. when you had to replace shocks or other mechanical repairs.

It has been years since I used Ziebart, (late 90's 81 K5 Blazer) back then they used a rubber like coating that hardened and some times chipped.
