Looking for help with 7 pin trailer wiring. I have installed a redarc brake controller, works fine. I have installed a 7 pin Tekonsha wiring harness for a badlands with LED lights TWICE. The parking lights still do not work. No power to the recep. I am at wits end at this point everything else works but the parking lights . WTF? Any ideas

First thing I would check is the fuses. I'm gonna ask a coworker if they have an idea what's up since they have installed break controllers.

Well, I’ve checked all the fuses. The Redarc brake controller works fine, brake lights and turn signals work. Its just the parking lights not working. They are out on the rear of the Bronco as well. 🤷

my coworker couldnt answer, since he doenst know bronco wiring. mmm and the fuses are fine. loose wires would cause all lights out. maybe it could be wired wrong? or a pin not in all the way? Im drawing a blank on this one. could you bypass the controller and see if can get your parking lights back to working. power is getting to the Redarc system? Im just throwing everything out there and see if something sticks.

Have you tried unplugging the Tekonsha T plug and put the tail light wiring back to normal to check if it’s with the Bronco wiring or the Tekonsha wiring? Did you remember to put the correct inline fuse in the correct fuse holder for the Tekonsha wiring at the battery! I would suspect the error in the Tekonsha wiring if you can’t find a bad fuse in the Bronco. Also, check the receptacle plug wiring, I miss interpreted the number sequence and got to wires swapped that led to my lights acting strangely the first time I tried them.

CURT also makes a harness for the LED light configuration. You might look into that one as an option. It does require a power wire to be run from the battery terminal to the control module you mount at the rear.

I have pretty much done everything and it’s probably in the wiring for the Tekonsha harness. I stopped at my dealership today and I have a great rapport with the service manager so his tech went over it and thinks it is a bad transistor and a BCM so I have an appointment in three weeks to get it checked out in the meantime. So I ran a hot Wire to the plug to pretend it’s got parking lights for the time being and we’ll see how that works. Appreciate all the help.

Glad that you may have found a source for your problem, too bad it’s going to take three weeks. 🙂

The harness is coming out and will most likely put in a ford 4 pin and modify it to a 7 pin. Bs but whatever

This is what I was recommended and going to get for my trailer wiring. It's a ford part and seems ford may have been listening to everyone saying I want 7 pin wiring. It does seem to require Ford Service doing some activation that cannot be done thru Forscan.
