I ordered my Bronco a few months ago. I have been reading the forums about taking longer to get a Bronco built if you ordered the tow package. Of course I did. Do you think I should delete that option and add it later? Are we talking months longer with the tow package? Has anyone deleted it and got their build date soon after?

that depends on if you want to tow a trailer with brakes or not

I deleted the hard top and roof rails to get my Bronco sooner. I advise patience, but you have to weigh your particular circumstances.

Welcome to BN!
Your in somewhat good hands here, lots of knowledgeable people to answer a lot of your questions, make sure to do a search to make sure questions haven't been asked before. To answer your question, have you ever played craps before?
Kind of like that, roll the dice and you never know what you'll get...it really is anyone guess if that will hinder you from getting your Bronco any faster or not....
Once again Welcome to a great place to hang out while you wait..... ;)

I ordered in October and have a tow package. I have a build date of Jan 24th. Was told 3 times by the dealer that a tow package was not a constraint anymore. Hardtops are still the main culprit in delays.

I am a new poster and know I have no cred, but everything that I have heard and viewed from dealers say the tow package is nothing more than a hitch and a wire. Ford offers both on their website. Hitch $360 plus $80 install and the factory harness is like $115 or something like that…can’t recall install charge. From my understanding there is nothing more to it.

LOL - Sorry to crush your lack of cred but…
The 7 pin connection is not available unless factory ordered.

It works great to add it later so it isnt an issue to leave it off the order. I ordered a fe that came without it and the dealership added the factory hitch and wiring no problem once it arrived.

And have a truck for larger trailers. Didn't need trailer brake capability on my bronco. But can always be retrofitted in the after mkt should I change my mind like what is done on many other vehicles.

Good callout but if a 7 pin is not need flat 4 pin and hitch can be installed by dealer. Only so much you can tow with 3500 tow rating, so not sure if a 7 pin is a must for everyone. 3500 is based on the lightest curb weight also. It wasn’t a must for me but may be for others…depends on if it is really a constraint. Just offering options if you don’t want to chance it slowing down the build.

Which isn't needed by most, anyways. And the after mkt always comes up with a fix for this down the road if you do.

I removed the tow package from the factory, as well. I am waiting on one more part from the dealer, but plan on having a nearly-factory setup when I am done. I plan on documenting and will post more information once I have the final piece. This includes the 7/4 pin connector and brake controller. I don't plan on everything being plug-and-play, but I believe it will work. Stay tuned!

I ordered tow package on mine. Ordered in September built a couple of weeks ago. Should be taking delivery next week or so.

I only needed the hitch for bike/snowboard carriers. no lights/brakes. I ordered the Curt Class III from Realtruck.com. It was installed with 4 bolts and a torque wrench in 15 mins. I think it was about $130. They now also have the 4 pin wiring harness that is complete plug and play with no wire splicing necessary. There are other options out there if you don't need brakes... AND you can save yourself some $$$ Oh yeah, don't forget to get the 7" receiver extender to clear the spare. ;)

Wow, this is so timely, my dealer just emailed me last night and told me there is 0% availability on Tow packages going into the February builds and asked if I wanted to drop the tow package. I have not gotten a build date as of yet and I am a day 2 res holder, so I have been lamenting over what to do here. I decided to drop the tow package. I have an F-150 with a Heavy tow package on it so towing something there will always be an option, plus the low tow capacity that the Bronco has is not worth the added wait time. I will most likely put an aftermarket Hitch on at some point, but right now it's not critical.
7/14/20 Res placed
1/23/21 Order confirmed.
3/22/22 Build Date 4Dr. Wildtrak, Velocity Blue, Squatch, LUX, Hardtop. The 3 sins....
