Trail control will work when in 2H which will be handy for school zones, Christmas parades, poking along on country roads etc.!! Trail control will check your speed by braking on downhills automatically. Trail control is functIonal from 1mph up to 20mph. It even works in reverse.! Sorry, but this feature only comes with the automatic.!

I ordered the manual so no trail control, but years of parade driving in fire trucks makes me think I’ll be using the crawler gear if I’m ever in a parade.

Very cool stuff indeed. At the NH Off-Roadeo I was able to experience this before I got my Bronco. It’s cruise control up to 20 MPH

Trail control might be good for the slow speed scenarios, but adaptive cruise control is cool too! On my current car you have to be going 20 to engage ACC, but once it’s on it will creep my car behind the car in front me while maintaining distance. So it's an option for slow moving scenarios (heavy or stop/go traffic) as well.

Good stuff!

From what I have heard, the Bronco has ACC but not stop and go capabilities. Maybe someone here with a Bronco can confirm although please don't crash testing it out. :D

Adaptive Cruise is included in the "Lux" package, not in "Mid" or "High" packages.

We used the trail control extensively during my time at the Texas Off-Rodeo in 4 low of course and being able to adjust in 1/2 mph increments allowed precise control in every situation that we tried it. The other thing we were taught was to utilize the manual control on the automatic, using trail control and 1st or second gear in combination worked really well.

This is correct, no stop and go ACC. I only know this because yesterday it kicked off in LA traffic, made a faint audible alert, then slowly drifted towards the vehicle in front of me. No big deal, it wasn’t dangerous, but I was a little surprised that it didn’t stop. Plus I drive a Tesla normally, so I’m really used to a high level of tech in a car, particularly with ACC and other driver enhancement features.

I had to have it... Live in a mountain area and tired of riding the brakes going down hills!

I haven’t read up on ACC, so tell me what it does for you in the mountains. My Badlands has "High" package so it just has std. cruise.

Manual confirmed!
Automatic Cancellation or Deactivation
The system may cancel if:
  • The tires lose traction.
  • You apply the parking brake.
  • Your vehicle speed falls significantly below 15 mph or 20 km/h.

To be so close to a great implementation and fall short at the ability to stop the car?! Weird, Ford,! Real weird--and another LUX package strike.

Trail Control for the win!

Regular cruise control doesn't help on a downgrade... you just speed up and have to ride the brake. Adaptive cruise control should maintain the speed even going downhill. You have a lot of downhill driving around in mountain areas on streets and highways.

Did you have ‘pre-collision assist’ turned on? I’m not sure, but that could be the feature that brings the car to a stop when adaptive cruise control is on.

Why can't it just be cruise control? Not just Ford, other manufacturers do the same thing just call it something else, but why don't they just let the regular cruise control work down to 1/2 mph? They could make it function like trail control below 20, but just be the normal cruise control. Why do you have to use different buttons and processes to set a speed depending on how fast you're going?

Yeah it’s on. If you want to let the vehicle slam on it’s brakes and freak out on the dash with audibles, I suppose you could use it this way. It drops ACC below about 10-11 MPH, it will not come to a controlled stop. The pre-collision assist is an emergency response system, not a driving enhancement.
