Monday, December 6th -- Had breakfast with a friend and mentioned that that while I was waiting for a safety inspection on the Honda there was a Car and Driver with a "Bronco vs Jeep" article on the coffee table. Decided to stop by a Ford Dealership and inquire about the new Everglades Edition that I had heard about. I was told by the dealer that Ford isn't taking orders on the Everglades just yet. When I asked what's on the lot for immediate sale I was told every Bronco on the lot was sold and there's a deep waiting list ahead of me. The salesman urged me to get on the list now if I wanted a Bronco next year. He assured me that if I changed my mind the deposit was refundable. We "built" a Black Diamond 4 door in Cyber Orange and I put the deposit down. I was told not to expect it until mid-year or later.
Tuesday, December 7th -- Decided I was going to do an Everglades clone with aftermarket snorkel and winch. I was going to have a high water rescue vehicle.
Wednesday, December 8th -- It was a dreary and overcast day. Stopped by another dealer's lot. They had a Cyber Orange Bronco out front next to a Race Red one. When I first saw the Cyber Orange it was in bright sunlight. It really popped. Not so much today but i liked the red.
Thursday, December 9th -- After hours of Internet searching I found out that the maximum water fording depth of a 2022 Bronco is just over 33 inches even with a 8 foot snorkel. I scrapped my high water project.
Friday, December 10th -- Having second thoughts now about the build. Do I really need the Sasquatch package and 2.7 liter motor?
Saturday December 11th -- Called the dealer to make some changes. The dealer says "Lucky you called, Ford just gave me your VIN number and build date. Your vehicle starts down the assembly line on February 7th. You should take delivery by the end of February." I was able to change the color but that was about it without risking my build date.
AND ON THE SEVENTH DAY FORD RESTED.
