Monday, December 6th -- Had breakfast with a friend and mentioned that that while I was waiting for a safety inspection on the Honda there was a Car and Driver with a "Bronco vs Jeep" article on the coffee table. Decided to stop by a Ford Dealership and inquire about the new Everglades Edition that I had heard about. I was told by the dealer that Ford isn't taking orders on the Everglades just yet. When I asked what's on the lot for immediate sale I was told every Bronco on the lot was sold and there's a deep waiting list ahead of me. The salesman urged me to get on the list now if I wanted a Bronco next year. He assured me that if I changed my mind the deposit was refundable. We "built" a Black Diamond 4 door in Cyber Orange and I put the deposit down. I was told not to expect it until mid-year or later.

Tuesday, December 7th -- Decided I was going to do an Everglades clone with aftermarket snorkel and winch. I was going to have a high water rescue vehicle.

Wednesday, December 8th -- It was a dreary and overcast day. Stopped by another dealer's lot. They had a Cyber Orange Bronco out front next to a Race Red one. When I first saw the Cyber Orange it was in bright sunlight. It really popped. Not so much today but i liked the red.

Thursday, December 9th -- After hours of Internet searching I found out that the maximum water fording depth of a 2022 Bronco is just over 33 inches even with a 8 foot snorkel. I scrapped my high water project.

Friday, December 10th -- Having second thoughts now about the build. Do I really need the Sasquatch package and 2.7 liter motor?

Saturday December 11th -- Called the dealer to make some changes. The dealer says "Lucky you called, Ford just gave me your VIN number and build date. Your vehicle starts down the assembly line on February 7th. You should take delivery by the end of February." I was able to change the color but that was about it without risking my build date.

AND ON THE SEVENTH DAY FORD RESTED.

You lucky lucky dog! That's fantastic. Fortuna has smiled upon you. (Any Confederacy of Dunces fans out there?) :D
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

And this is why people are extremely upset. At some point @Ford Motor Company , you need to build the vehicles for the people who have and are waiting for them! I am a late reservation and I have been waiting just under 14 months since I reserved mine. I did it exactly the way you told us to do it. And you haven’t really gotten through the July and August reservation holders yet. And all we get is freebies and a post when someone finally gets theirs. No one is ever honest with us. And again people are getting bumped. What about all the Dirt Mountain Bronco’s that are done and getting shipped to customers in December? Is that happening? What’s gonna be the next problem that is gonna come up? What new parts constrain issue is coming down the pike? How about this. Do you have any idea when I am getting mine? Hey if I’m bumped till 2023 can you at least tell me what month this year you are gonna send me the next Dear Tim email?

All seems
Completely insane that people have been waiting over a year yet someone can walk into a dealership, place and order and is promised their vehicle in 8 weeks?

I'm the new guy here so I don't know scat from Shinola, but I wanted the hard top. I was told that if I put that option on the build I would have to wait months longer for it. I was also told that they're planning on offering a white hard top option in 2023. A white top on a red Bronco would have a real retro look to it. I passed on the tow package for the same reason. The only two things I insisted on were a seat for the driver and a coffee cup holder that the driver can reach.

Absolutely fudged that this can happen and 170,000 earlier reservations can get bumped.

BUT, since they went to (basically) a strictly dealer allocation model, more of this is what to expect.

AND, not to be a TWO Bronco dishhead, but his build is VERY similar to what I have been contemplating putting in for. I'm not in a hurry, but I have considered just calling around to see which dealers might have an allocation spot open.
Either trade off my Base 2dr or get HoosierMomma her own and ditch the 2015 155k mile Outback. Not particularly excited for 2 car payments though.
Day 1 res first 3 hours, Feb 6th order; May 25th? scheduled for build, July 15th Build date, Dirt Mountain 2.5 months, delivered into my loving hands Oct. 8th

I am thinking of heading to the bigger dealership down the road and order the exact same Bronco I have now and see which one gets here first.

I’m a 7/20/20 res holder and I put in a second order on December 9th for a soft top, 4 dr, 2.7, no SAS to see if I can get one sooner. It will be interesting to see if I get lucky and Get a build date or at least a VIN within a month or two.
