This looks like fun, until it's time to clean it out

I have never had the chance to drive in sand. One day, I will, not sure when, but one of these days!
Anyway, looking at the photo on the main page, driving in sand with no doors, how the heck would you get all that out? The little rocks and mud from our local OHV park suck enough, I couldn't image sand! Well, it would help if I didn't have carpet, but it does (as did my F-150 we took out to the same park).

Anywhoo, what fun this would be, flying around with no doors, but then the fun ends, and you're left with the mess, lol.
Shop vac's work well for sand on carpets? Guess I could just rip out the carpet and say F' it (wife might kill me)

I’ve got people for that. 😉

Ah, who am I kidding? I’ve gotta do it. All of it. The downside is it’s a lot of hard work, but on the bright side, you’ll get to know your Bronco intimately. Every. Square. Inch. LOL

I think we still occasionally find sand in the Explorer from our Destin Fl beach trip, 2 summers ago.
And we didn't even park or drive on the beach!

Sand is hateful. Ask Anakin Skywalker. He hates the stuff. 🤪

Equally important (if not more) than cleaning the interior is getting the sand, mud, dirt etc off the exterior and especially the undercarriage. All that debris harbors moisture which will promote rust and kill your rig.

Here’s a funny pic of the aftermath of a significant water/mud hole from a wheeling trip in PA last year (not my Bronco). He does not have the MGV or washout interior and the cherry on the top was, his doors were off when the torrential rain began at the end of our day…

Hard pass. I keep the doors and top on, and windows rolled up. If I have to clean it up, I’m going to rent someone else’s SxS and send that instead.

I hate mud.

Yeah, we get a lot of clay/mud in Bridgeport that I gad to wash off the F-150. Used everything possible, and I still find more, lol. I am getting one of those undercarriage spray things on Amazon that attach to the power washer. Used lawn sprinklers before.

Shop vac style vacs work especially if you have narrow attachments and the brush attachments for the carpet. The worst is getting it off the undercarriage. Way worse then sand though is dust from red dirt. That stuff you can find in new crevices for months or years no matter how good you are at detailing.

Static straps! They'll keep your Bronco free of dust, grit, and all kinds of granular contaminants. Just kidding. Wherever you take your Bronco, you'll gather whatever is in the air. (Remember Redmond?) Think of it as collecting microscopic souvenirs from your off-road excursions. The alternative is having a Bronco that is pristine, but grossly neglected and underutilized by being parked, idle, in your garage. Dirt, in any of its forms, is evidence of use. So, get dirty already!

Haven't had a chance to get the Bronco very dirty yet, but here was my F-150 from a dry, dusty day at the OHV park in Bridgeport. Found dust every month until I traded it in, lol.
Bridgeport is either mud, or dust. No in-between. 😐

I've seen the same film of dust on my Bronco's interior. Makes me wonder if I should get a leaf blower or keep a can of compressed air in the console to perform routine maintenance.

I've done that. The trick is to do the leaf blower first before otherwise cleaning the interior/exterior otherwise it blows dirt over everything you cleaned. Once completely cleaned I used it for drying the vehicle off since I hate water spots and I learned years ago that hand drying Will leave minute surface scratches in the clearcoat (especially microfiber towels) that perhaps others won't notice but drives me bonkers.

DeWalt has a blower that might do the trick. Especially for the roof. It’s always a scary balancing act drying the roof off with a shammy. If you don’t dry the roof, you get a waterfall over the windshield and hood the first time you come to a stop! 🛑

Yah sounds good but with all the holes, crevices and passages in the frame and undercarriage cleaning it throughly seems virtually impossible. Not to mention the factory sealant acts like a dirt glue.

I was there when this happened, middle of a mud puddle, he just gave it the beans...I also believe this may be the last image of the passenger side mirror before it's untimely demise. The downpour killed my compressor as I was airing up so I had to limp it down to the local gas station to top off before the 2 hour drive home...all in all, I would change nothing!

I would hope most of the sand gets blown out on the way home (mud is a different story). There will always be some that doesn't get blown out. Last month when I changed my oil, i had a decent amount of sand on top of the skid plate from Bronco Beach Blast in Oct that hadn't blown away.
