Just receive email re battery drain through embedded modem (ATT). Dont use ATT but paired Verizon flip and dont use data. Brought Bronco in had battery checked and @12.43v. start stop not working since near 75% per service mgr.

Ford Pass tech wrote
" I received your escalation regarding the Ford Pass concern you have reported to our department. Thank you for taking my phone call on today.

There are two Special Service Messages (SSMs) that may address your vehicle concern. SSM 50670 & SSM 50804 need to be applied to the vehicle to address your concern by way of a dealership visit.

Please let me know the outcome by responding to this email with any further questions or concerns. You may also call 1-866-631-3788 EXT 76499 and leave me a Voicemail in your message please provide your case number. Please if contacting by phone provide your case number that is listed in the subject line."

Ford Pass is investigating software that keep talking to modem looking for data. While parked got message CURRENT condition of oil, tires, etc.

Read attached SSM 50804 if you have simular battery drain due to Ford Pass data transfer and or software conflicts.

Don't say that, then we will have an copy and paste explanation of the green used in beer and how it could dilute the ETOH of the beverage.

See ro . Battery is 12.43% after dealer has for all morning. Start and Stop is disabled under 75% . You wanted proof here it is just read the SSM

FORD PASS will draw you battery by milli volts, like your cell phone is discharged. What do you think powers the embedded ATT modem?😆😆😆

Silver lining two more years of free battery charging and no PAIN IN ASS START AND STOP. DEALERS HAVE NO CLUE. My dealer wanted $195 to read me the SSM.

I just save you $195. Go buy you kids some Easter clothes😆😆

Ford sell our driving data. Over speed limits, red light violations, excessive fast stops.

HAPPY ASH WEDNESDAY AND EASTER. Did you find all your Bronco eggs yet?😁😁

Good morning, Frank…. I for one, do not find the start and stop function to be a pain at all. I have now owned 5-6 vehicles with the function and have never had a battery fail as a result. Much ado about nothing worrying about battery drain by computers…. The car protects itself as long as it hasn’t been modified to prevent such protection…

Cars have been collecting data (on-board or over the air) for YEARS…. I had a mid-eighties Fairmont wagon my dealer told me was storing driving info in the event of a crash…. Don’t know if that’s true, but it didn’t change my habits…

If you don’t want to be tracked, buy a horse, and make sure its not ”chipped”

no wonder the battery is draining, you've had it for almost a year and only have 1107 miles on it..of course the battery is going to drain while it sits, ANY car/truck/boat/airplane/space shuttle/death star will drain a battery if it sits. Drive the thing Frank! quit tearing it apart messing with the wiring...drive it like you stole it, let it send info to Ford or the men in the black sunglasses, they're getting nothing from you as it is....

Hi
Ford Pass is doing a great job. Their software engineers reviewed battery conditions remotely and third party non Ford and determined a non issue. The Deep Sleep messages due to low voltage and embedded modem uploads and down loads.

The dealer did a battery test and stated good @12.43 v. and charged for 1;02 hrs but back to 12.43v and no DEEP SLEEP messages. Deep sleep started around 12.15v per Ford Pass or 40% charge.

The weather was quite cold and would affect battery current flow. Today finally hit 60°

Well anyone who know storage battery , if you have one dead cell ( 6 cells on AGM battery) you will never get a full 100% charge 5/6 of 13v is 10.8 v normally but AGM are different then wet lead acid, there range is from 13 to 12 v. Battery read as low as 12.145v or 40%. so 5/6 of 1 v battery range is .84v 13-.84= 12.16 v or one cell could be bad.

I could drive for miles, like to White Mountains and the battery would never get to 13v. Some charts say 12.8v is full charge. My battery after service never gets above 12.43 v and Ford Pass engineers have used voltage reading from embedded modem ddownloads.

CRC by Ford will not replace battery , if selling dealer Ford Rotunda printout says good battery and reads 75-80% charged. The BEMC will cut off modules like start stop, heater, ac etc. That will tell me weak battery condition and not holding a charge. Start stop has been disabled before and after selling dealer service on 3/8/23.

My dealer charged warrantee .20 hour to hook up Ford Rotunda battery tester. He did nothing else. See ro and Ford Rotunda battery test and charging printout. GOOD BUT NOT GREAT FULLY CHARGED!

CRC made appointment for second Ford dealer to diagnosis why after battery charged Start Stop not working. Bad cell in battery? But Ford Pass works now and no Deep Sleep. Maybe the Bronco's BEMC just dont like cold weather.😆😆😆😆

Just got off phone with CRC. Go get second opinion. Done.

Now why are new 2.3L 2024 Mustang have dual fuel delivery systems. Carbon build up in intake values. Old 2.3L Ego boost issues. hundred of thousands and your Bronco at 100000 miles.

Ford has been forced to re-engineer the throttle-body low pressure fuel delivery system to prevent excessive carbon build up in intake values causing poor emissions due to excessive carbon blockage of turbo charged PSI air ,into intake manifolds.

Look at new 2024 Mustang 2.3L marketing.

Ford placement in the head of the sole high pressure fuel injectors has caused the carbon issue in the intake manifold as well as the intake valve body. Other makes used a side injectors in head to avoid this lack of cleaning the back of the intake values.

So will Ford issue a recall. Never! Class action like 2.7L yes!

Can you retro fit a dual fuel system in your Bronco 2.3L made in Mexico engine plant?
For $5000 you can get a newer 2024 2.3 L Mustang engine, when available . Only issue is engine computer controls maybe another $2000 with new wiring. Then labor. Well we are up to $10,000. Why not put a V8 for another $25,000 since the 10R60 cant handle torque.

Alternative, emission controls for 2 years on defects? Or 8 years on cats and engine controls. So that will not apply, but if under 8 years and your inspection state fails the emissions , you may have a claim.

How about those walnuts? Well Ford was not the first . BMW used them 30 years ago. The intake manifold is removed and blasted to get ride of carbon gunk.$500+

Will running turbo in high PSI help or hurt carbon build up? My Cayenne twin 4.5L animal only cause oil to convert from a mist (Mobile one 0-20 ) into fluid in the intake tubes. Porsche said normal. On occasion just unscrew intake tubes and clean with rags real simple. Well not so simple with Ego Boost tubes set up. No easy way other than by air box and be careful of mass air sensors. Tubes opening not big enough to get rags in to clear oil. Maybe at throttle ?

What did Ford do to meet EPA? They used old PCV system and a oil separation box set up before intake from turbos. But Ford has no maintenance requirements, since the oil collected should go back into engine.

Like my Cayenne now 600 hp when their much larger turbos push real high PSI boost what do you think happened to oil mist from engine. It goes all over. Look at 820 hp BraBum Porsche $500,000 and o-60 just over one that's one minuite.😋😋😋😋😋

All those tubes, sensors, relays computer talking. Well the EBCM is the brain for all that computers to talk to each other through CAN in wiring systems, no optic fibers in Bronco. The oil pump is heart pumping oil, instead of blood. Good luck.

Ford Warrantee will not give a claim on a 5 cell AGM out of 6 cells or 83% maximum charged battery. If second opinion dealers says bad cell!

Here is what Motor Trend wrote on new 2.3L Mustang:
"Updating Mustang Powertrains
The base 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged I-4 is updated to reduce emissions and increase fuel efficiency. We don't have specs yet, but engineers tell us the power will not drop, which means it should continue to push out at least 310 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. This fourth-generation powerplant is known as an MPC (Modular Power Cylinder) engine and makes its debut on the Mustang. "Dual fuel deliveryto follow.

More info on new 2.3L.

If you don’t want the full power of the V8 engine, there is also the Mustang EcoBoost model. This has an all-new four-cylinder turbocharged 2.3-liter engine under the hood. Less power of course, but easier for a lot of people to handle. An optional performance pack is also available for both versions, including features such as a Torsen limited-slip differential and a front tower brace. When it comes to transmission, we are delighted to see Ford has saved the manual, with the six-speed manual transmission still an option, and they have really spoiled us because the 10-speed automatic transmission is also an option too.
