Things I don't like about my new Bronco

I have now owned my Bronco for 2 weeks and it has been great so far.

There are 2 annoying things that I don't like about my Bronco

1) The windows absolutely suck. The delay opening them is slow and always catches the weather strip. The problem is I have kids and new passengers and my kids now know to pull the door handle open but not the door until the window drops. When you have company they just open the door and the window then shakes and makes a flimsy sound.

Ford IMO should have made the handles have sensing capabilities when the key is registered as near by that it will roll the window down when it notices your hand. This is possible as my explorer has this but for unlocking. I just have to touch the handle and it unlocks. The same could be done but with the windows.

My 2nd annoyance is not really a Ford issue but it is super annoying.

Wireless car play connection when playing music on Spotify cuts out for about half a second every few minutes. This may not sound bad but when listening to music it just sounds like your car is bleeping out parts of the song.

Everything else so far has been great.

Congrats on the new ride. Let’s see if we can fix your Spotify issue…

Dropped audio during streaming is typically an issue with the transmit side (phone), not the receiver (car).

What kind of phone are you using?
Is it on the latest software release?
Do you notice the drop out while driving under bridges, tunnels or other obstructions?
Do you have good cell service?

If all of that above checks out OK, I believe there is a setting within Spotify to specify the playback quality. Try selecting a slightly lower quality. Don’t worry, you won’t notice a fidelity difference given the Broncos basic audio system but it may help as a last resort.

Yeah I have been messing with it a bit and tried a different phone but the connection seems unstable no matter which device I use. I tried Android and Apple same result.

Do you have the same result of CarPlay drop-out when you are hard wired into the USB port?

Ill add to this: Small gas tank and some modification to make the factory winch work with ACC.

I haven't done much with the corded version. I usually just leave my phone in my pocket.

It has a larger gas tank than my V6 explorer... But I knew it was gonna hog more fuel.

I've heard the same complaint about the windows from a lot of new owners. I hope it's something they remedy soon. I'm just not a fan of the frameless windows on the Bronco. I know it was to allow hauling the doors in the Bronco, but it really detracts from the quality when they catch and rattle. I've owned several Mustangs and the side windows began rattling once the weatherstripping began to wear down.

I love the frameless windows and it's old tech that's been around for 30 + years so there is no reason Ford can't make it work.

Lets talk about the interior "lighting".

I won't buy one... towing capacity alone... 5k absolute minimum. They should have made one of the many model tiers a more towing friendly version. Anybody with a half decent two person 20ft camper or even a basic 16-20ft boat will be over 3500lbs capacity. 6k-7klbs capacity should be possible but below 5k is a deal breaker for most outdoor enthusiasts.... Ford is missing out on a large share of the market for that item alone. A toyota Rav 4 can tow 3500lbs. Some smaller SUV's vs the full size bronco can tow 5k-7klbs. They completely missed the mark on this one. If you want to shell out for the ultra off-road orientated Raptor you can get 4500lbs, people are not going to spend top dollar if they don't have a use for the extra offroad capability ... just for 4500 towing cap. Key competitors already have 4500lbs beat out. I hope this is addressed... absolute deal breaker for me... and a loyal customer lost...

I've heard or read that about the windows not dropping fast enough, and you're right, easy software fix with a proximity remote. Easy fix.

I have a question though that I've wondered for some time. What is the benefit of the frameless windows. I don't understand that as being a design "feature" (benefit). It seems a frame adds support, additional wind/sound protection, and obviously keeps the window from catching the top, but there must be a benefit (a practical one?)?

They are frameless so the doors can fit in the back.

It hasn't been built yet. Others have, exactly like what I reserved (first day), and ordered (first day), but they didn't get delivered to ME.
