Throughout today, rumors have been circulating about this beefier M-plated Bronco Sport, seen with Raptor badging. The manufacturer license plate had some outlets convinced this was a MY26 prototype, but the Mothman sticker threw others off. Turns out, Ford says "no" to a Sport Raptor, at least for now.

While some will be disappointed (it's a good-lookin' modification that looks like it could have some additional fun on the trails), others want to hold the Raptor nameplate closer to their chest than share it with other vehicles in the Ford lineup.

What do you think? I'd drive it, with a couple alterations of my own (different fender flares, and a more streamlined rooftop cargo setup for daily use).

I personally would be fine with the Raptor nameplate being shared with the Sport as long as the keeps the Raptors heart and soul and would not just be cosmetics.

I mean, there is already a Ranger Raptor, an F150 Raptor and a Bronco Raptor right?

I agree! The pricepoint would be the downside but it could become even more of a rally vehicle.

I bet it would be a nice rig. and depending on the price might be a sweet ride but if the price starts getting near a Sasquatched Bronco I don't know why anyone would get it and not a Squatched Bronco. I mean the Squatched Sport is already right there near a non Squatched Bronco price point. maybe if they stuff a small V8 in there that would get people to jump on it. making it more off-road capable you might as well get a Bronco. I still think they could do a Shelby or ST or R Bronco sport and make it a street beast.

For Ford the nameplate "Raptor" is becoming as overused as BMW's "///M".

What’s next? A Ford Transit Raptor? 🤪

All kidding aside, no I’m not kidding. Add as much cladding as you like, it’s still just “cute.” Capable, maybe, but it seems like line blurring and an obvious money grab for what in my opinion, would be a tiny niche market. Interesting concept if nothing else.

Now THAT’S a concept car I would like to see! Definitely “Road Warrior” inspired. 🤓

Apparently it's a one-of-a-kind hobby project by a (or some) Ford employee(s). So Sport owners like to customize their rides like us with full-size Broncos. Good for them! Ford released a statement, which was covered in Car and Driver, that it is not a prototype or concept Sport, but they encourage their employees and vehicle owners to experiment and develop their rides.

So you can inject a Bronco Sport with testosterone, and get something beefier, but its DNA is still XX.

IF this were a Raptor The most sleeper of all Raptors ever. Looks a bit higher up. No removable top and I imagine an absurd sticker price so it's a no for me. I hope it has a lot of substance because it has ZERO style. That said this appears to be an employee's interpretation with their own Sport and in that light this is pretty cool.

100% but it still needs cosmetics. This has zero personality.

If they made a Raptor Transit Connect, we might upgrade our company vehicle!
not really, but it would beat the hell outa the 2016 model we have now for work.

Ford with the Raptor moniker is as bad as Sig with the Legion name. Putting it on everything dilutes the meaning.
