After 4 months and 3 mis-handled windshields (2 broke and 1 for a sport) Safe-lite has finally replaced my windshield.... See this thread https://thebronconation.com/general...eful-with-those-windshields-safelite-t.15850/ And it did not go with out drama, Warning!! if your bronco was built in months Dec 2021 to April 2022 and you have a broken windshield make sure you have proof that you do not have a open recall on the windshield. The safelite guy came out to my house around 0900, handed him the keys and about 10 minutes latter I look out the window he has both doors, tailgate and hood up. I go out and he is on the phone with his manager, he tells me he can not replace WS due to there is a recall on it.. I relax, count to ten, and tell him that mine does not have that recall, I brought up the carfax to prove and he tells me thats not good enough. See the recall was for 12/22/21 to 04/12/22 My bronco hit the assembly line on 04/12 and was built 04/13 and never was part of the recall. Long story short, I had to drive up to local safelight get the manager to call my dealership to confirm no recall, then wait for my Tech to get back so they could replace WS.

So what started at 0900 ended 1700, what a waste of a Saturday

It’s just a s easy as they show on the commercials.

That sounds terrible. Although I had pretty good experience with them.

Man, that's rough. To be honest, even when I had my first windshield replaced by the dealership it was a terrible process. They took forever ordering the new windshield. I was driving around for months with a broken windshield with a huge crack right in my field of view. It didn't feel safe.

That is a big reason why I ordered the film from grab gard to protect my windshield. I just didn't want to deal with that all over again.

February 19, 2023 we had the windshield on our 2022 Bronco serviced per the recall notice for the windshield adhesion repair. That weekend, we drove 800 miles to Crested Butte, Colorado. On Monday morning (4 days after the service) there was a windshield crack in the shape of a long smile that ran 5 inches from the edge on the drivers side to 5 inches from the edge on the passenger side. Safelite is scheduled to replace the windshield tomorrow. Speaking with the scheduler, she suggested that a faulty windshield adhesion repair may have caused undo stress on the windshield leading to the crack. She advised that the glass tech can investigate further. Is anyone else aware of a similar experience?

The Safelite tech arrived the next day and said he believed the crack was the result of a stress fracture and suggested I take it to Ford to see if they would cover it. The Safelite tech did identify a tiny divot on the exterior of the glass along the crack but believed it was too small to initiate a crack under normal circumstances. I took it to Ford and they said they would not cover the windshield. The service manager claimed that if it were a true stress fracture, it would initiate from an edge. I argued that a tiny divot in the windshield would only initiate a fracture if the windshield was under undo stress - likely from the windshield recall work. But all for naught.

Most dealerships do not "REPLACE" windshields, unless they have a bodyshop. SL is bullshitting you like they did me, they told me to take bronco to dealership (my bronco was not part of recall) and have the adhesion repair done then they would replace the windshield... like that makes any sense
