The Dealer Drilled Holes in the Front of My Bronco!

After specifically telling the dealer NOT to drill holes for the front of the Bronco for the Ford license plate holder since I had purchased a non-Ford solution to avoid making my Bronco look like a Chipmunk, they did it anyway. And yes, I HATE THE LOOK (Hate is a strong word, but in this case it is CORRECT). So, here are my choices:

1) Fight with the dealership (They have been great to date, but this might push them over the edge. I am bringing it in for them to look at next week)
2) Buy bumper plugs from www.bumperplugs.com (Not a bad option, but expensive) they do not have them in Cactus Grey and want $179 for six, $225 for 12 (I need two so I guess I could look for two other people that have my dilemma and get the price to $60 a pair. Still, ouch!).
3) Buy the plugs and paint them myself. This is the cheapest way ($8 for four plugs online plus $50 for a spray can of cactus grey and a can of clear coat) at $58 and would leave me with enough touch-up paint to cover anything else I wanted to (Likely the best way to go it alone).

Does anyone know of another solution? Another company that sells the pre-painted ones in Bronco colors?

I am not at home (it is my week out) but here is another owners Bronco from my area and a dealer put on the plate bracket. These are machine screws that they use to attach the bracket. When I take the bracket off, mine will look just like this.

Cool. I will take a look. Do you know what they did? Al the threads I have read did not resolve what to do…

Well if you told them not to do it can't you demand they replace it? They can easily swap it out with another Bronco they get in.

Walk in with a cordless drill, tell them you will drill holes in their cars.

EDIT: Jesus they didn't even take the burrs down on the holes they drilled!

There were only two resolutions. Different ways to plug the holes, or demand the dealership replace it.

LOL. Like getting another First Edition will happen! The Sales Manger is setting up a body shop appointment for them to look at it. Best case is they replace that part of the Bronco. Worst case is I figure something else out.

Seriously I would go in to the dealership if it were me. You told them NOT to do it!

I would take them up on replacing it. That part is the same on all models so you're good to go there.

Yes. It would appear they drill a pilot hole and then run in the two self-tapping screws.

It won't show up on the vin like an insurance claim would. I know it's an FE but no one will ever know except you.

If you ask me, that is pretty shoddy work on an expensive brand-new vehicle!

They are only going to weld it shut and paint it.

To fix it yeah.

I wouldn't let them repaint it! They would have to repaint that whole area so it blends in. Don't let them do that to your brand-new FE!!

The dealership my wife works at did that to a customers special order car (not a Bronco) and they ended up replacing the Bumper. I need to make sure they don't do that to mine.

BTW that's not even the bumper is it? That is the metal piece between the bumper and grill. OMG what a STUPID location.
