I'm thinking of switching to the soft top from hard top. I originally reserved 9/30/20. Got a Badlands 2.3L auto sas high package on order, the wait to get a build date is killing me. The reason I have a hard top is living in Massachusetts, no garage and break ins are likely. Also my trade in is dropping dramatically since I put on about 750 miles a week.

I bet you’ll be soon. I’d wait. I think the soft top in Mass wouldn’t be ideal 6 months of the year. We live in California and have a Summer house in Maine where our Bronco will live and I still ordered the MIP top. I’ll be waiting forever but it will be worth it. What color did you order?

If you really want your Bronco soon I say go for it. I am doing this and will get a hard top when they become available. Do you want it soon and wait for the hard top production to catch up or do you want to wait for your bronco with only an estimate when it MAY get produced? Only you can answer that

I live in Colorado and not gonna switch to a soft-top. It'll be parked in the driveway since SAS is too high for the garage and given the cold winter and hail season nope. But will get an AM soft-top later

I’m assuming you have a 4door ordered…
Currently your soft top will come Hard Top ready…
Meaning it will have the plug-in for the rear wiper/defrost and instruments controllers for the hardtop. I have a cover and it keeps the rain and weather at bay…
So it can be done…

Ultimately you will have to shell out my guess is around 3 K for a hard top later on.
(2023)

I did not want a soft top… but now that I own it it’s is great…. Instant top down.
Either way having both tops is the way to go!!!

I've decided first Monday in December if I don't hear anything I'll switch to a softy.

I switched to a soft top after waiting about 4 months with no word and got my production email 2 weeks later. It’s a verifiable delay point. That and the tow hitch add on from the factory.

Don't think I'd talk you down from a hard top, I'd talk you into it.

I understand the wait is hard, but the end is so much more worth it. Especially in the cold weather and the miles you travel a hard top makes so much sense. From the wear and tear to the noise and temp a hard top is (in my opinion) the best way to go.

Hard tops are being produced again. I wouldn't settle on a soft top just to have the bronco.

How many bronco orders does your dealership have? Do you know where you are at in line?

They have around 116 orders, I'm number 26. The 2021 allocation was 22. Of course that doesn't really mean anything right now.

While switching to soft likely accelerates delivery and is pre-wired for hard top, I’ve heard the hard top from Ford won’t be ready until 2023 and you still have to pay an unknown $ to get it. My sales guy thought it could be $1k. Anyone heard different?

I've heard closer to 3k because of freight charges.

The cost of adding the mic top goes up $695. The soft top is just shy of $2,500. Shipping the hard top will be $300-$1,000.

If you add the 2 of them together plus shipping, I bet it's every bit of $3,000-$5,000 for a mic top from Ford in 2023.

Definitely not $1,000. There are threads on here that are talking over $3000 plus you can look at around $500 for freights since it's a partial load for the carrier
