Sta-bar Discnnect

Question for my fellow Badlanders: How, if at all, did the sta-bar disconnect influence your decision to go with the BL?

For me, it was the added articulation which should help keep the corners on the ground on some obstacles, while at the same time, having the ability to run smoothly at speed when on dirt trails, on sand, or on the freeway. All this capability in one vehicle is huge for those who plan on using it in those environments. My '68 is built for rock crawling and it doesn't much like traveling fast down the freeway. Of course, I built it that way on purpose and love it, but this also can result in it getting trailered to a trail out of my area. Having the ability to, at times, load up and drive to a trail, run the trail, and then drive home all in one rig was my motivation.

Same here with my 71', and since a solid front axle wasn't available on the new broncos, the disconnect was the only way to go for me.

I chose the BL for other reasons and I thought, "ok, I now get the Sta-Bar Disconnect, good." After seeing the ride along videos from the King of Hammers and seeing how they used it I am like, "WOOHOO!"

I have been driving J**p Rubicons since the first one was released late in 2002. First modification on that one was Quick Disconnects for the sway bar. Next 2 Rubicons were JK's. Wore out & replaced the Sway Bar Disconnect mechanism on both of them. Can't live without it on trails around CO & UT. Makes a big difference where we like to wander. So, Yeah, I need a Bad Lands.

New to off-roading, so I watch many YouTube videos for trails in northern New England. Each narrator made a point of disconnecting their sway bars. I thought to play on that playground I need the proper gear.
Besides, when I am not on the trails, our highways have huge potholes each winter. So now, own a Badlands and problem solved!

I wanted the disconnect. You can also get it on the BD and WT.

I watched a Ford ride along on YT. I believe it was Moab part 2? The disconnect is electronic. When in crawl, it will disconnect, if you reach 20mph it will reconnect until you drop below 20 at which point it will disconnect.

We have the same crappy roads. I'm thinking that's where Baja mode will come in handy.

Fact check: BL is the only trim with automatic sway bar disconnect.
Fact check 2: the auto disco is hydraulic, not electronic (like Jeeps)

The thing that really put me into the badlands is the combo of MT and mid/high/lux, but after watching the KOH videos, I'm really excited about the sway bar disconnect feature.

I have the push button sway bay disconnect in my Rubicon and is an amazing upgrade to having to manually detach the ends. Thankfully Ford included this in the BL package as Jeep did on the Rubicon’s knowing this was the demographic that would use/need and appreciate the feature.

For me, the BL trim package included all the right gear and provided the proper look and stance for a rugged SUV. The bigger tires, sway bar disco, bash plates, metal bumpers, additional recovery points, better suspension etc are all items found on capable rigs. Smartly, Ford put it all together in the BL.

The disconnect is activated by an electronic switch on the dash and controlled via electronic sensors.

Although the disconnect is activated by an electronic switch, it is a hydraulic system.

Not sure how much I will actually use the sta-bar disco but after watching the KOH vids I want it! I was never really expecting the new Bronc to ride like the Raptor at high speeds either but was very impressed. Great for rock crawling but also will come in handy for any uneven terrain/ruts where the suspension needs to flex to make contact with the ground. I continue to analyze my options and diff trim levels for my build but keep coming back to the BL! (y)

It will probably be the 1st vehicle I will keep more than 3 years in decades. That is until they come out with the next gen. I probably need a bigger barn, so I can just ad to the collection.

Technically correct, though I do not consider FE to be a trim, but rather a special edition. Unless reserved on day one, it will be nearly impossible to get one, and it will never be available in future MY's.
