Sorry for the extended absence. Here’s a tip for seat care:

Friendly tip from your neighborhood amateur leatherworker:

MINK OIL.

Use it on leather AND on vinyl seats. Be aware vinyl is less porous therefore will take a while longer to absorb, and you will have to wipe off more excess.

Only use mink oil if you’re okay with the possibility of the leather/ MGV darkening a shade or two.

MO is an often forgotten element of leather and vinyl care. Try to buy some that’s pure mink/ animal derived, and avoid anything with silicone additives (just personal preference, more than anything… but do NOT use a silicone-enhanced conditioner on any material that is silicone based. Because silicone degrades silicone, for some reason). MO makes materials much softer, waterproof (to an extent), and most importantly, it ensures longevity and toughness. If you’re using your Bronco as a workhorse like I will, it’s critical to care for the little things.

Update on myself, I’m still without my bronco and I’ve been working 14hr/ 6 days per week lately and all social media has been an afterthought. I’m about done with my temporary assignment in Arizona though, and my dealer swears up and down my BD 2dr will be on the lot before the end of October.

I used mink oil on my soccer cleats for years and just introduced my daughter to how to maintain her copa’s with it. This stuff keeps leather in perfect condition. I never thought of using it on car seats…..

Can you recommend a brand or a place to buy. I can't find anything that says 100% MO
