Hey,

I hope everyone had a nice holiday. I was wondering since this is my first time owning a soft top if anyone could recommend something to clean the outside of the soft top windows. The back window seems to especially get dirty. I do not want to use the wrong thing and mess them up. I got a bucket for Christmas from the chemical Brothers and has a silk shine protectant but just want to make sure it's good before I use it.

Thanks

I agree with @TK1215 - Chemical Guys make quality stuff but I have no experience with that specific product.

I use Plexus on the plastic windows of my Jeeps and now Bronco and it both cleans and protects and will even polish out light scratches.

This is good stuff. I’ve used it on all my soft top Jeeps for years. The key to cleaning plastic windows, especially if they’re VERY dirty, is using lots of water to get most of the grime off before you put a cloth to it. You want to avoid scratching the surface as much as possible.

I’m glad you brought this up! Wasn’t sure either, and seems from the comments that Plexus is what to most uses so far.

Haven’t checked all the threads but also wondered opinions on car washes for soft top Broncos? Hand wash only or can the go through automatic Ones

I asked about this. Most are against car washes. I have taken mine through the touchless with no issues, but I don't want to do it on a regular basis. If I do not have the time and really need it I would do a touchless again. That being said I did just get a chemical brothers kit and will most likely be using that

303 makes a cleaner and sealant for convertibles. I used it on my wife's 911. Water would bead and roll off for nearly a year before it needed to be reapplied. I will be using same on the Bronco.

@Bschurr - thanks for the plexus recommendation. Holy cow that stuff is fantastic! After thoroughly cleaning the plastic windows with a flood of water and soap, dry gently and the apply the plexus, all the streaks and stains from whatever crap they put on the roads disappear! Better than new and protected. I did two applications and windows never looked so great! Gotta make that soft top last until I get a hard top!

Thank you for this valuable information @Bschurr ! Does that mean it is recommended to wash or rinse the vehicle off before using the cleaning products?
