The top choices on the new build tool are a bit confusing. Does anyone understand the difference between the ”soft black cloth” top and the “retractable full top twill”? I notice the latter requires also choosing the MIC top.

Very confusing…would appreciate any insight anyone has.

The "retractable full top twill" is the Bestop Trektop. And yes, you can only get it if you order the hard top.

Just for reference, if you are wanting the Bestop instead of the factory soft top I would order it from a dealer instead of through Ford. It is going for under $1900 from several Ford parts stores such as Lasco or Ruxer.

Being cognizant of the current situation is also key. Despite the increase in MIC top production the vast majority of orders won't be delivered anytime soon if you ordered the hardtop. Reason being is even if you are an early reservation holder your dealer probably won't have the allocations for most orders, and those of us who switched to soft top jumped over many order holders and those allocations are now gone. So if you want a Bronco anytime in the near future and you are not a very early reservation holder or near the top of your dealer allocations you still should switch to a soft top. Otherwise, hello 2023 and a whole new 2023 B&P. Just look at all of the articles about supply constraints and allocation changes.

Thanks. What are the benefits of the Besttop top vs the standard soft top option?

Bestop pros: Rear side windows aren't as wavy? Available on 2-door. Reputable name/company.
Bestop cons: Harder to install/remove. Doesn't retract all the way. Doesn't have the lift-up hatch.

It's a fastback, and some people prefer that.
