Soft top back window damage

When I received my soft top Bronco, it was reported that when the dealer removed the back window (not sure why they would do that), they damaged two of the four clips on the right side. They seemed to have used a form of glue or epoxy over the two missing clips to hold it temporarily. Although they are ordering the replacement window, my question is, what are some thoughts on being able to remove the rear window while I wait for the replacement? If I were to remove the rear window properly, will that impact the temporary fix?

You've really got nothing to lose if you try, that's the only way you'll find out if the temp repair held. You know you have one coming in that they'll warranty out...I say give it a try.

I’d leave it alone until you get the new one.

I removed windows several times over the past few weeks, if it’s the “corner” clips I definitely wouldn’t touch it. Not much else to hold those corners in place if these are busted.

True, I have one on the way (hopefully), but my fear is it breaks and then I’m screwed without one for a while. I guess I’m curious, for those who removed the windows, can putting the back window on and off correctly possibly damage what was put temporarily. If I’m not carelessly pulling at the back window to take it off, could it still mess it up? Any thoughts?

I had wrongly assumed that it was the top “tab” that actually slides in to secure the corners to the top that wa broken on yours! My bad!

I think those clips just hold the fabric to the rounded plastic corner section? Do you agree?

If so, then it’s probably okay to remove.
