Skid Plate Mystery

Hello Bronco Nation,
I picked up the 4Door skidplate package ( MB3Z 5D032 E ) from Ford today. I used my FordPass points to cover half of it. The kit comes palletized so we had to unpack it and configure the seats to fit all of it in. I was really after the gas tank and transfer case skid plate as my Bronco already has the modular front bumper and the front engine skid installed from MAP. I plan to sell the front skid and engine skid plate that came as part of the kit as I do not need them.

I was surprised that there’s no transmission skid plate especially given the factory trans pan is plastic. I know there are aftermarket options out there but was wondering if anyone knows why there is no trans skid plate in the factory kit and/or, if there’s a reason Ford Engineering felt it should not be included?

Shout out to Ford of Boerne Parts Dept. for helping me source the skidplate kit and for being generally awesome guys to work with!

Any help is appreciated.

I was wondering the same thing. ASFIR makes o tranny plate that is designed to fit with the factory plates. Another mystery: ALL Broncos with the Mod bumper automatically get the front skid, so they must know that everybody who orders this ends up with an extra.

Regardless this package is still a good value based on the aftermarket prices.

First off that is a beautiful Basesquatch love the color. Did you order your Bronco from FOB? I have an Everglades at Boerne. I have not really dealt with them since they changed from Jennings Anderson, did they honor MSRP? Or did you just get the skid plates from them?

Good morning,
I actually just purchased my skid plates from FOB, my order/purchase was with Northside Ford which did honor MSRP (Plus their tint/protection package which is applied to every vehicle).
I really like the Everglades - if I didn’t get mine a month ago and was going to change my order, that’s what it would have been changed to. There’s a lot of value IMO in that setup.

Let me know when it arrives. I would love to see it in person!

Well I figured since it is a special package Ford will want to get these out so my chances of getting it this year go up. And I can get the Color I wanted since I heard the Bronco was coming back, back in ‘17. Desert sand. I lose some things off my original build non squatch badlands 7- speed manual high package. 360 camera sway bar disco and approach lights in the mirrors. But I gain a snorkel I live down a dirt Hillcountry road, a winch since I live on a ranch I can put that to use, and the trail turn, well for donuts. The Sasquatch and cool fenders are a bonus. If I ever get it let’s meet up.

Absolutely, hit me up when you get the ‘glade. It’s worth the wait....I love the desert sand color, your Bronco will be awesome. Wifey and I were cruising around today with the roof off. HEB runs have never been so much fun
