Side Steps That Work with Factory Rock Rails?

Hey everyone,

I have a 4-door Bronco with the factory rock rails installed. I really like the look of the rails and the way they fill in the bottom of the body, but I’d also like to add side steps for easier entry/exit.

The dealer installed the Ford OEM fixed side steps (M2DZ-16450-BC) for me, but they had to remove the rock rails because the mounting points are the same. I ended up with a noticeable gap between the steps and the bottom of the Bronco, and I miss the clean look the rock rails provided.

Has anyone found side steps that can be used while keeping the factory rock rails in place?
  • I’m not doing any serious off-roading
  • Main goals: keep the black rail look across the bottom, fill the visual gap, and have a usable step
  • Open to OEM or aftermarket suggestions

Thanks in advance!

I bought these on Amazon and I love them. I do some offroading and they are pretty easy to remove when I do. They only hang down to give about the same clearance as the differential but for aggressive trails, they need to come off. If you plan on removing them, I suggest replacing the Allen Wrench Bolts with standard Hex Bolts to avoid stripping.

It's not letting me post the Amazon link but search for "TIOYAR rock rail side steps". They're about $275.

So far so good on the Broaddict steps. Cheaper than the IAG ones but look pretty much the same. Seem solid and well built. Took longer to put the little color plates on than it did the actual steps. lol

I would go with the ford performance Hoops. I have the 2 door version and love them. Didn’t need the rock rails but the hoop uses something like it and it covers what you are talking about. The hoops are nicer looking and wider than the rest.

I wandered and got lost, again.

I have the Mabett steps and they're amazing. All powder-coated aluminum and a great price.
