Side Graphic Installation

I have been thinking about adding graphics to the side of my bronco that run the length of the car.

On the front of my car I have the paint protection film and it comes down the front of the bumpers. Does anyone know of this will cause problems with installation? Any thoughts on this would be helpful.

Thanks 20220116_072711.jpg

The PPF won’t cause a problem with the installation of a graphic (presumably vinyl) per se but know that any imperfection in the surface will illustrate itself through the graphic that you apply over it.

If your question is “Will I be able to see the seam of the PPF through a vinyl graphic that I apply over it?” The short answer is yes.

Thanks I figured you would know best. Do you think it would be best the cut the strip at the seam have the one stop at the seam and the other start at the seam and move forward (does this make sense?!?!) Rather than just go over it

I would suggest that you just run the graphic over the PPF like it’s not there - if it looks like crap you can cut a seam but that’s not my 1st choice.

Shoot me an email to —> [email protected] and include your contact info & I will mail you a couple of pieces of vinyl that you can play with and use to test before you buy your graphics package. This way you will know approximately what the end result will look like. I know you are not getting the graphics from me but I am always happy to help out good peeps.

BTW - I only provide my old skool hockey stripe vinyl as an accommodation to the Bronco community. It’s not my full time gig and the price I charge covers my costs (with enough left over to pay for lunch)

This is all new to me so dumb question of the day . . .

Plan is to Ceramic coat my Bronco as soon as I get it. Adding graphics, changing emblem badges/scripts, adding hood deflector, etc.

Do you ceramic coat everything after or before all the changes I want to make? What is the difference doing it before or after all the minor cosmetic changes?

If you want to keep graphic for long time I would coat after you put them on it protects them for years as well.

Clean & color correct the paint first. Then apply graphics then ceramic coat.

Thanks for the responses - appreciate it.

Sounds like it would make sense for the ceramic coaters to do all of this while the Bronco is with them. They’re the ones doing the clean/color correct the paint before applying the ceramic coat.

I plan on doing side graphics as well. Keep in mind some of the stripes if they dip too low will get in the way of the trim series badge.
