Shadow black hard-top

Hello everyone:

So with the rumored 2023 updates leaked I saw an interesting development. The Shadow Black Hard-top. I think it would look good on my Race Red Wildtrak. I saw it says late availability, so my question is, how much more expensive would it be to paint the top that will come on mine? Its hard to tell because I have a 4/13/21 reservation date so I was pretty late. Should I just take a chance that I'll be late in the group anyway and should just get the painted hardtop? Is the painted hardtop even going to be available with RR?

My understanding is that the Mod Top in Black will be available on every trim but the base one, and the color wont matter. We don't know what late availability means (with ford that can mean anything from Q2 to five years from now). If you are reordering for 23 (and I will be) the gamble will be how far back will the Mod top push you.
Im a fall 2020 Reservation, so im not sure I want to push this to waiting three years for the truck.

If your question is how difficult is it to paint the MIC top- Well, its been done, and Ive seen a few that were wrapped. Its hard to do however because of the texture. We don't know yet how its going to hold up long term, but I haven't seen any horror show pealing paint or wraps pics yet.

If you are painting to match the body color, the mod top is the way to go. It will be so much easier to prep and paint.

For my money, I think you just have to make the call. Im going to reorder with the MIC top. If I continue to get pushed out until it starts coming down the line, I will modify my order to include the Mod. I think the Mod top looks better in every way, and it cant function much worse than the MIC top, so I would prefer that. Im just tired of waiting on this thing.
