I’m done with waiting… What are my options now? After i told my dealer to refund my deposit and cancel my order they informed me they were ”keeping my order just in case“… Kool & the Gang...

But the more i think about it, they will make money on my reservation. I remember reading about people making money selling their reservation position. Do i tell dealer to cancel my order or split their profits when they do sell my oder? Do i sell my reservation to someone and inform the dealer of the change? Is there an option I’m not seeing? Am I totally off base? I‘m not looking to rob anyone or take advantage but i damn sure don’t want to leave some cheddar on the table.. ADVICE?

The Dealer will not split there profits with you. they will give you your 100 back but keep the order and sell it to someone else for 10k more. There isn't ANYTHING you can do about it. other then just wait it out. unless the 100 is going to keep you from going homeless.

BTW. if you told the dealer to cancel the order already you are SOL for getting that back. :/

At that point the dealer makes zero money on that reservation. Not being contrarian just exploring.

the dealer has to do it I believe. just like you can't order one through the website, i don't think you can cancel it either.

Either buy it and sell it for a profit or cancel your order and get your money back, or god forbid…keep it and enjoy it

I have gone through the cancellation process and unless it has changed...

You can't cancel the order, the dealer has to do it. You have no power in this situation, unless you take delivery of the vehicle. The dealer would likely want you to cancel your order with them, so they can take delivery of the vehicle and sell it to the highest bidder.

If you aren't willing to wait just give up your spot and let someone else move up. There isn't any way to sell your reservation. You would have to take delivery and resell it. If you are looking to be an opportunist and make money off of it you could always wait until it comes in and see if the dealer is willing to pay you to walk away. I have seen people being offered $10k to do this. The dealer takes possession of it and will sell it for way over MSRP. Whatever you decide to do I wouldn't say anything to the dealer. Unless you are just going ti cancel and walk away. If they think that you are looking to make money guaranteed they will tack on an astronomical adm to scare you off.

I plan to keep my order and possibly sell it on the open market. Does anyone know best places to post ad for interested parties in California?

So you can't sell your reservation or your order... but you can buy your Bronco and then turn around and sell it after you buy it.

This forum has a Buy/Sell section here. And there is also Bronco6G—which is the other major 6th gen Bronco community online.

I sold my Ford Fusion using AutoTrader.

I've heard of people having good luck selling vehicles on Facebook Marketplace as well, but I do not have a social media profile with Meta so I did not post there.

Cars.com was recommended to me by a friend, but I had zero luck with it for my Fusion. Just spam.

And Carvana and CarMax both underpriced the crap out of my Fusion, so I didn't choose them.

Like Ragnar said, for a Bronco, I bet you have really good luck here or on B6G as another option.

Free life lesson: greed tends to always come around and bite you in the rear end. Don’t wait until the next time you have to learn this at a cost.

Thanks, how about auctions? So I ordered my Bronco Dec 2021 when I lived in CA and now we moved to MA so logistics and additional costs to transport across the county is going to be pricey. I was thinking if anyone has put theirs up on auction and made good profit?

side question is I just got my order notice that it's scheduled for production April 17th. Does anyone know how firm these build dates actually are and then what the average time from build to delivery has been? I've heard it could take another 6-9 months to be delivered to the dealership for pick up.

Thanks!

There are approximately 9,362,137 threads on production and build time across the two forums. That's approximate.

Summarized:
  • Not a single one of us can tell you
  • Seems to differ for everyone
  • People are about to respond with how long it took them
  • I'm going to be one of them
  • Scheduled originally Nov. 12, was bumped a bunch of times, actual production Dec. 12, arrived at dealer Jan. 24
  • What can you take away from my experience? Absolutely nothing.
