Y'all I'm seeing all these posts of driving in the mountains and I'm so jealous! All I got is dirt roads and I suppose there's some beach driving around here but I haven't found it yet.
Is anybody familiar with the area that could point me in the direction of some decent trails for the casual family weekend trip? I'm assuming all the good stuff with actual elevation would be closer to Atlanta, or at least in that direction. I tried to get into Gaia or OnX but couldn't make heads or tails of what was for Cars or ATVs or hiking.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'd love to get out there and get our squatch on.

Thank y'all

I'm not going to be a lot of help. We did live in Virginia for a few years. We went to Nantahalia (sic) National Forest in NC. It is in the SE corner of the state, if I remember correctly. This place had some amazing trails. I do not know how far it is from Atlanta and I don't know how off-road friendly it is these days, as it was in the early 90's when we went there. I also want to suggest that you look in the "clubs" section here and if you do Face Book, look there too - there should be some Georgia Bronco groups somewhere. Hope this helps some!

Appreciate the response!
That place looks fantastic. I figured I'd need to drive for a bit to get to that kind of thing; but that's a good suggestion. I will keep looking! Cheers

If you go, please post pics and tag me - if at all possible! That was a beautiful area! Our boys were about 8 and 10 when we went. Part of the drive is along the Nantahalia River. There were people rafting on it. Our youngest son saw them 1st and yelled "look, people". So, that is something we said whenever we were on a road trip together. Me and my husband will still say it to this day.

Totally will do. Love stories like that! The origin of a random family saying is a beautiful thing. :)
