Running Wiring From the Roof Rack to the Interior

I know this is a bit premature but I’m customizing my new Bronco in my head. I plan on installing a roof rack that will be used to mount several radio antennas and several lights. I am wondering how I am going to be able to get all the wires and cables from the rack into the truck. When I was about to buy a Rubicon, I had planned on buying the type of rack that has posts coming down to the rear bumper. I thought I would run the wires and cables along one of the legs then under the Jeep and into the interior. To date I do not see that type of rack available although I’m guessing someone will offer it in the future.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the subject?

Please, I don’t want to sidetrack the conversation into “Why would you want to do that...” so please be respectful and keep your answers on target.

There is a thread posted back a bit that goes over the auxiliary switches and where the wiring is located. In particular there is prewiring for the auxiliary switches that runs up to the mounting area for the roof rack. Good stuff!

I saw that but in addition to five or six lighting circuits up there I'm talking about coax cable for the antennas. Thanks for letting me know though.

Check out the video on Roof-rail removal.
There is pre run wiring for auxiliary switches.
That requires drilling under the front mounting covers.
I know your talkin about larger antenna cables, but that may be a large enough void on the drivers side. Down the a pillar.
It’s just theoretical at this point.

As mentioned watch the AUX run wire video. You have to already drill the hole to complete that wiring so no reason you couldn't incorporate the coax into that too. That's my plan and my EV (emergency vehicle) installer seems to think it will be just fine. He happens to be a Ford certified mechanic too

That's kind of what I was thinking but three or four coax cables and six to eight power wires might be a bit too much. However, your idea is the leader so far. : )

The Trail sights may give you an option also, but it’s just conjecture at this point.

And obviously, you will want to spread out your 2 roof antennas (max really for performance) to one rear, one front. So using the rear glass could work too as I did that on my Blazer and had no issues years ago. Plus one of the Overlander rigs had it on your trail sight at the very front, so guessing there will be an AM mount for an antenna there as well and that's easy ran coax there

That's a tricky one. It sounds like you're gonna have more wiring than I can imagine fitting inside that a-pillar, although the existing aux wire would make a great pull cable. There's probably more room going up the roof structure in the rear, but that makes a really awkward roof penetration while also likely making the roof permanent. I like your idea with the bumper supported rack, but you'll likely be looking at something custom fabbed to do that on a 1st year Bronco.
If you know someone with a tube bender, you could make a conduit of sorts out of a stick of thin walled handrail or smaller tubing, weld on a tab to bolt to the left corner of the rear bumper (right will hinder door opening) and another to the roof rack. Bent to follow body lines and painted black, what I'm picturing in my head looks a lot better than it sounds spelled out like that, but just brainstorming...
