I was bummed out when I found out that the WILDTRAK doesn't come with rock crawler mode. is that because of the sasquatch package? if not, I could get the BADLAND with the 'squatch pac right?

The WILDTRACK is geared more towards desert running. The Badlands is more of a crawler hence the sway bar disc. But just because you have a Wildtrack doesn’t mean you can’t crawl. The GOAT modes only really set parameters up for you. So if you take a Wildtrack add a manual sway bar disc put it into 4 low and lock the lockers you will be able to crawl just fine.

really? is that doable on the WT? if that's the case I'll keep it and do it later on! thanks Jakob

I'm sure there will be an aftermarket swaybar disconnect in the future. The Wildtrak will be just as capable but will need some things like skid plates and sliders if you plan on rocking it.

What is the reason you want the Wildtrak over the Badlands?

I went with the Wildtrak over the Badlands because I wanted aftermarket skid plates aftermarket bumpers and I didn't like the parameters on the re engaging sway bar. If I disconnect it I want it disconnected until I don't.

that's a excellent question Deano! at first it was because all the bells and whistles that comes with it, but now I'm comparing the standard WT with the all tricked out BL and it comes up to almost same price. I already put the order for the WT but Im still thinking: to change or not to change! that is the question!

Yes I over simplified it a tad. You should as @DRWright says add some under body protection like bash plates but it is doable. If you are planning to go crawling right off the showroom you might look at the Badlands but if you are willing to add a few aftermarket bits the Wildtrack will serve you well. It really all depends on how extreme you go with the crawling too.

I am on the same boat. I went WT because I liked the interior better with my overall build. But I do sometimes regret the auto swaybar disconnect.

I’m hoping I can install it aftermarket, still a spot for the switch on the hero panel as far as I can tell...

that's a good point too! not extreme off road! I'm just the kind of guy that rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it! also it opens a whole new world of outdoor possibilities.

Ok, I didn't know if there was something on the Wildtrak you absolutely wanted that wasn't available on the Badlands. If the swaybar disconnect is important to you, it doesn't get any easier than just flipping a switch.

Yes the only way you can get the factory sway bar disc is to go FE or Badlands. Now can you add it later that is the big question. With enough money you can do it. But I think it would be a pretty major undertaking have you seen the size of that thing it is robust for sure.

Correct, let me clarify by saying the hydraulic factory set up is what I was talking about specifically. I am sure you can add a disconnect fairly easy but if you want to use the hero switch on your dash you will spend a good amount cash.
