Reverse Lights on When Driving

Hi, I have a new bronco Outer Banks 2023. does anyone know why my reverse lights are on when I’m driving forward? A friend was following me last night and called me and said that my reverse lights are on but I was driving down the highway. Someone said that it might be ambient lighting but I went in and I don’t think the ambient lighting is on since the back is not selected. Has anyone else seen this? Is it that I’m just not handle in the ambient lighting correctly? Thanks all!

I would take it back to the dealer. I don't believe the ambient lighting will stay on while driving.

I would take it back to the dealer. I don't believe the ambient lighting will stay on while driving.

That's what I was thinking too...

Sounds like it is a bad reverse switch or one that is stuck closed. You see this on old vehicles, but brand a new one I would take it back.

Do they go off at speed? The rear "zone lighting" may be the culprit but I believe zone lights turn off at around 7 mph. I'd check that, but it may be a bigger issue that the dealership should look at. Ambient lighting is in cabin lighting.

Do they go off at speed? The rear "zone lighting" may be the culprit but I believe zone lights turn off at around 7 mph. I'd check that, but it may be a bigger issue that the dealership should look at. Ambient lighting is in cabin lighting.

Dealer said something is not right, need to bring it in. I agree that it’s a switch issue. I did see that in google search initially. Probably a bad wire or some thing touching.

Have the dealer check the flux capacitor and then if thats ok maybe the compass has somehow gone into dyslexic hemispheric overload and created a reverse short in the nucleus of the hypersonic scheduling programmer which has actually put your Bronco into an independent thinking condition and the start of maximum overdrive 2. Or not.
