REPLACEMENT GRILLE LETTER OPTIONS

Who's replaced/covered their OEM grille letters with aftermarket products ? I want to replace/overlay the OEM BRONCO letters with a blue version. Looks like there are a few choices out there.

Most look like an ABS plastic overlay with hopefully 3M tape

CJ Pony Parts has a velocity blue overlay product, and seems to have all the right words in the description (3M tape). $49. Still probably made in China..... They were usually my go to for Mustang parts before the pandemic, but that really put them off their game.

Overlays seem to be the predominant choice (they range from about $26-$50), but there do look like a few OEM solutions with clips, and adhesive attachments ($89) limited color choices for those .

Operators are standing by for opinions.....

The overlays cover the whole letter. you can get the Vinyl letters and they just stick to the letter face but the edge will be the original white. I have seen these on a Base he put red vinyl letters and the black edges looked really cool. I don't know what the higher trim levels with the white would look like, but is an option. you could always pop the letter off paint them whatever color you want then reinstall them. I have seen a video somewhere of someone doing this. there is also the Oricale light up letters a little pricey but kinda cool this might be a Fad and loose its cool factor. finally you can alway tape off around the letters and shoot them any color and be done with it but you do risk overspray on things you may not want to paint. My Everglades will have black letters so I am going the vinyl myself.

Yep, I like that option. It looks like it's got some quality.

Yeah the DIY painting is an easy one. You need to scuff up the OEM letters in my opinion for proper adhesion, and the paint brand/ type selection is important.

Looked at those, I want blue letters. I’m adding little blue details in a few areas, tow hooks, Blue anodized blue quick release nuts for the MIC top, and the control knobs for the dash.

I’m doing something similar with mine, but going with the Badlands ‘yellow/orange’ theme. The blue details on your Iconic Silver will look pretty sweet!

I went with the Ford/Tuffskinz letters. I ordered mine from CJ. CJ shipped fast, so no issues there.
The letters are super high quality too, I was really impressed. Like vinyl stickers, they cover 99% of the front of the grill letter, but you can still see a white edge and the sides, which was the look i was going for. They are basically like a puffy sticker, and they adhere really well. I highly recommend.

I'm going for a few small blue accents too. But I want to stick to the black diamond interior trim blue. Which is apparently grabber blue. Guess if I want to color match the Bronco letters I'll have to do it the old fashion way and remove and paint them.

The small color accents are a good way to introduce some color to the grey or silver bodies.

Yeah, I like the concept, my only concern with painting is how durable will the paint be ? Prep work is gonna be crucial to good adhesion.

Is the grabber that far off from the velocity ? Is the grabber one of the current Mustang blues, or is it an old 70's Mach I color ?

My guess is it would be the recent grabber blue offered on the Mustangs and Mach-E. There is a grabber blue and grabber blue metallic.

I was going with the paint option before moving over to the black Oracle lighted version. We are still going to do something special to the Oracle letters by adding in some cyber orange to match my other accents though. I was concerned about how the paint will last, but the guy doing my custom work has done a few others and has not had issues. I guess time will tell.

But overall, adding these little orange and blue accents are definitely great on our grey and silver Broncos!
