Remove rings to mount tires?

Do the Sasquatch rim trim rings have to be removed to swap tires? I guess even if they don’t HAVE to be, I may still remove them to keep the shop from damaging them.

But will having them off when they balance the new tires make a difference when I put them back on? I don’t want to throw them off balance.

The beauty rings do not need to be removed..

Some people have damaged the thread when trying to remove them, including myself!

I would remove them. When a reputable tire dealer in my area installed a new set of rubber, they damaged all five of my black beauty rings.

I had my wheels swapped and when the dealer performed the swap, they removed (or at least loosened) the bolts that fastened the beauty rings to the rims. All of the beauty rings were still attached to the rims, but the bolts were all loose.

I thought it was odd. I didn't see the dealer remove the tires from my Sasquatch wheels, so I didn't know if the rings needed to be removed or if they were taking precautions so their apparatus wouldn't damage the beauty rings. Three of the five trim rings were already damaged while driving off-road, so maybe they thought they were doing me a favor. I'm not sure if this helps, but it's what happened in my case.

* Double-check your lug nuts using a torque wrench (set to 100 lbs.); don't assume the installer will do it. 😉
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

It's always best practice, especially will aluminum wheels, to re-tourque the lug nuts after around 100 miles or so.

Do it right. Remove the rings then reinstall before balance.

I changed my tires right after I bought the Bronco. And the tire shop had to take the rings off to change the tires because they would interfere with the machine.
