Okay, so I got the dreaded letter from mama Ford stating that my life is currently in peril if I am driving in 4 Low! I guess the camera doesn't go off and one might stare at the screen so long they could go off a cliff, mezmorized by the crappy 8- inch base screen (my Kia Soul's screen is bigger).

Anyways, I am not taking it to the dealer to hafta mess with scheduling issues, scratches, and people taking my Bronco out for pizza two of the three days it sits there till thay can "Squeeze me in."

So, seriously, tho; it says I have to check/verify my "Ford Power-Up Software" is updated and current?

Anyone who has dealt with this issue, please give me the skinny!

Yes its a BS recall. Just saw it the other day and laughed but still saved it in our journal/file. This recall just shows how many people bought a bronco that had zero business driving one offroad.

We have our over the air updates turned on via surf your nav screen and bronco connected to our home wifi when in garage turned off (which you can also set up in your nav screen) so this recall update should already be fixed. Even if not
..who cares lol.

Remember guys. Half the time "Recalls" are code for "Customer Retention". We are 3 recalls deep with our 2021 BL and still not visited our local dealer for fix.

Hmm my Wi-Fi doesn’t reach out that far to the driveway and the garage is even farther away. Plus our internet is so slow it would take days to do any down loads.

I remember those days deep in the CO rocky mountains via sat internet. Slow as heck but better than nothing.

In your situation I would either disregard the recall or get it fixed during next oil change if you dont change oil yourself.

I for one respect Ford for quickly owning up to the mistakes and recalling stuff. Had a bowtie on the front of one of my cars and that company blamed the customer for an issue that was happening over 15 years straight on some models and still never recalled it. So good for Ford to admit it and let us get it fixed.

Okay, I thought so, too, that it did it by itself.

Agreed, I had a leaking back window seal on the fold out rear hardtop glass and they wanted me to bring it in. I just put a little silicone chalk on it and it hasn't leaked at all since. Not really saying or believe they would intentionally do anything at the dealership; just saying that I have learned over the years, when it comes to the dentist, doctors, and dealerships best to make trips only when nessecary. I have always avoided dropping off cars for a few days to avoid dents and found issues and mistakes.

I dunno... not sure I'd go that far. I don't think the recall is because customers call the NHTSA and complained about it. Instead, stuff like this is found through testing and self-reporting, and gets fixed for liability reasons. In fact, I'd say its more of a testament to the litigious society we live in now. They want to prevent some stupid person from being able to use this as an excuse. Plus, the more recalls we have, the more the NHTSA can justify their existence and cost. But stuff like this is like the same reason we have warning labels that knives are sharp or loaded guns might go off or that coffee is hot. lol
